We came here at the request of my daughter visiting from Seattle, who had frequented Ted Bulletin when she worked at the Hill a few years ago. But she was used to the Ted Bulletin in DC. She likes everything Americana when in town so why not. What a big disappointment because the food did not live up to the hype. It was not good at all. The food was unremarkable. Ordered the loaded tots and they were edible, although the bacon was so crispy it bordered on being jerky. The pastrami sandwich was ok, and I received an entire head of unseasoned broccoli. But what was worse was the service. Our server was uninterested in paying attention to us. There were long periods when he completely ignored us and every time he left our table, he was sitting elsewhere in the restaurant on his phone. my 6 grievances: very dry when you don't it to be and very buttery when you don't want it to be. ted's burger, yuck! fries were the main course and the infinitely better than the burger. (yuck) girlfriend said to say the pancakes were good a side of unfrozen fruit was 6 dollars waitress was polite and helpful.

This place is terrible! I ordered the chicken fried steak (even asked the waitress how it was cause it's an iffy dish depending where you go). When the food came, I got the chicken fried chicken... so after a wait, the waitress came back and I said I ordered chicken fried steak and this is chicken. She asked me where it was on the menu and I said it was the Sunday special (it's Sunday morning) so she said oh, okay, I didn't see that. I ended up here twice in one week. Once on a Saturday for brunch and again on a Wednesday for dinner. I like that they have decent gluten free bread, which opens up a lot of menu options that I usually can't eat. The only thing is... the service here is awful. Both times (once at a high top in the bar and another in a booth) our servers were absent, only coming for the order and food drop off. After 15 minutes of waiting to be greeted, I left. The restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of employees standing around. This was not the same as the many times I visited Ted's before the pandemic.

I'm very annoyed as I write this review. I placed a curbside order for the teds in Reston because I've been having knee problems and have trouble walking and due to my health status, I can't be around large crowds and risk covid. I put my order in and my order was supposed to be ready at 10:23am per the automated email I received. I get to the restaurant and park directly across from it at 10:35 am and call the restaurant to have my order brought out to me.
