I love the Cat Practice! I have two kitties that I treat like my children, and I believe that I am getting the best care for them here. When I first gott them, I brought them to Crescent City vet and felt that it was unnecessarily expensive. In addition to that, they gave one of my cats eye drops that were made for dogs and not sensitive enough for him. This same cat also had ear mites, which they treated, but did not follow up with an exam and the deposits left by the mites caused him to have an extremely painful ear infec... read more
Feel pretty grateful that The Cat Practice just happens to be 2 blocks from our house (which is kind of a requirement for one of our cats, since she get carsick so easily). The front desk staff have been unerringly friendly and helpful. I've found the veterinarians to be very professional, although had the experience with one being slightly condescending. For the most part, I've been happy with my service and will continue to choose to bring our kitties here.
If I could give them 10 stars, I would, Not much to say, other than brilliant, dedicated staff from the receptionist to the vets. The space is clean, airy, nicely designed and imbued with palpable love vibes. My cats, Tingo & Rhoda demand The Cat Practice, and so do I!
A bit expensive, but we had a great experience here! Wonderful staff, excellent vet care, and overall the best place we've been to in New Orleans. The waiting room is fun and colorful, which made for a not-so-boring wait experience. The staff was very gentle with our poor kitty, who was being seen about for her tummy troubles. I really feel like they care about their fluffy, little patients at this clinic. The doctor was very thorough and educated us on many ways to keep out cats healthy. Overall, we had a great experience. ... read more
When my wonderful cat, Bear, started showing signs of illness, I searched for an all-feline veterinarian. His doctor in his home-state was all-feline and I wanted Bear to get the same attention and level of care. Up popped The Cat Practice. I called on a Sunday and left a message, since they are closed that day. To my delight, I received a call the next morning, inquiring about Bear's health. Admittedly, I was a bit wishy-washy on bringing him in, because he was looking better, and I didn't want to stress him out with the ... read more
I took my very special furry friend here for all her shots and to get groomed, and I am never disappointed. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, with great phone manners, which matters when you work at an office with cat-owners (seriously... wrar). They are just pricier than the alternative places, but you get what you pay for here: Quality, secure care. No complaints what-so-ever. Great grooming. Great Veterinary care. My friend brought her little one in after it had been in a fight, and they did an excellen... read more
After disengaging from this place due to relocation, we considered some of the etiquette from the staff to be odd after the fact, especially since it was only our first visit, no rapport with them, and the vet was so opinionated about how or what the regular care has been like for our cats with the previous vet practice we had & what has been going on with my cat After we moved, I got a text message reminding us of their needs & to make an upcoming appt but it was phrased in such a way that it was sus, especially since the ... read more
Rip off. They charged us for tests they did not run and we did not request or approve. Then refused to refund the cost of our tests when caught. They also butchered our kittens neutering. We called with concerns regarding his recovery which they said was completely normal (bleeding for weeks, swelling and abnormal tissue poking out thru stitches). I took him to our regular vet only to be told it was not normal and that they did a bad job. Strange business practices. This whole ordeal cost a lot of money for a simple procedur... read more
Business response:
Hi KC, Thank you for your feedback. The essence of our values and who we are start with patient-centric, compassionate care, and best-in-class service, so hearing you felt otherwise is very upsetting to us. We want you to know that we are committed to providing exemplary patient care and strive to do everything we can to keep costs to a minimum without sacrificing our standards of care. The test you refer to in your review is a discounted fecal test, which is part of a combined kitten wellness package. Ensuring your kitt... read more
When I adopted my kitty, his current vet was The Cat Practice. So I continued to have him seen here. He is an older domestic shorthair with a thyroid problem. This means he is on prescription food. I was constantly told he needed his internal organs checked, a slew of vaccines, professional dental cleaning, an echocardiogram, blood tests, and a bunch of other services that seemed excessive. When I asked the price of the visit, I was told it would be upwards of $560. I wasn't able to afford that price for a regular cat visit,... read more
