Don't waste your time anywhere else; if there's something going on with your cat, please bring them here. I cannot tell you how hellish it was bringing my baby to multiple professionals who, after tests upon tests, all reported back that they had no idea what was wrong with her. I was told all they could do was pump her full of a different type of antibiotic every week while she slowly died, hoping something worked. I can't say enough about the Cat Practice. Everyone there, Doc and staff, was wonderful. I have 4 indoor cats and a flea problem. Not only was the treatment wonderful, they were so encouraging letting me know that while this might take a while to go away, it WOULD go away. I was so grateful. I just thought there was not hope and helped me keep my chin up. We (including my ankles!) are on the road to recovery. Thanks again Cat Practice. You're the best Debbie, Bill and Simba, Rex, Leo and Boots!
When I initially wrote this review, I gave this place 1 star. My cat wasn't feeling well, I brought her in for a checkup, and the bill I ended up with was unlike anything I'd ever experienced in the context of animal healthcare. But in fairness, Dr Cousins knows what he's doing, he gave me a clear estimate upfront and listened to me when I decided not to do the x-ray that he felt was necessary. We took our cat here recently and received exceptional service, the staff and Dr Cousins were very friendly and took the time to explain everything.
Our experience with the staff at The Cat Practice has been amazing. My husband and I moved to NOLA from Los Angeles CA. We were worried about finding a vet we could trust, we found Dr. Cousins and the wonderful people at The Cat Practice. We have two very different cats with different issues. I took my himalayan cat in for a grooming appointment. They did an excellent job. He was dried completely, soft, thoroughly brushed out, and smelled wonderful. Definitely one of the best grooming jobs I have seen. I highly recommend.
We were coming through New Orleans and wanted to board our 2 cats. This place was just wonderful. I was really nervous because I had never boarded my cats, and they had already been pretty stressed out after a very long drive so far. The Cat Practice made me feel totally comfortable. The place is very nice, clean, and all cats, so no dogs to stress the cats out. The price was very reasonable. The space was very nice. I'm really glad we found this place - made our stay in New Orleans a lot easier.
Let me start out by saying that I am obsessed with my cats. They are my babies. My new kitten got sick, but eventually got better with an antihistamine prescribed by an outside vet. Then, my older cat came down with it. I took my older cat to her (now former) vet, who prescribed another antihistamine, after I told her I had tried a little of the kitten's on her and it didn't work. The most professional and knowledgeable veterinarian clinic in town! Dr. Cousins and staff are the absolute best..I've known Dr. Cousins for 20 years. His experience regarding current treatments and drugs for felines is why my 2 beloved cats are in such good health. My oldest cat was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis. Because of the treatment and serviced he received From the cat practice, he is back to good health. I would not trust another vet clinic in this city!
