Love it here! The food, service and ambiance are consistently the best!
As soon as I walked in to the restaurant I was greated by a friendly host. Our waitress was on her game and knew the menu. She was very courteous and attentive. I would go back.
Get the lamb chops, when on the daily special, a generous portion worth an excellent reduction. You can't go wrong with the cod special with the creamy lobster risotto. My favorite menu item, duck in a whiskey sauce. The Oar also takes special attention to the sides during the off season where the chef can take some time to make proper dinners.
We love going to the Oar. We always get a good meal. It's one of our favorite places to go on a nice summer night; we love being on the water. The music was a bit too loud for this restaurant...a different type of music would suit this restaurant in the winter.
we have been to the oar several times ,they have expandedn it and it really looks great even when it is cold outside. The food is always very good. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the onion soup was not very salty like alot of restaurants do to destroy it. Will go back and you try it too.
We chose the Oar to return to for our Anniversary. As usual, the food was excellent (especially the pumpkin ravioli special from the extended Restaurant Week menu!!) Service was great too. We will continue to return, year round.
Four of us had dinner and it was the first night of restaurant week. The service was initially good but deteriorated during the meal. Our waiter did apologize as they were very busy. While the food was good I didn't feel it was great and it turned out to be a rather expensive meal. In the summer this restaurant has a lovely space for dining along the marina, however since it was a November evening we were inside.
We love the Oar restaurant it was an amazing find for me and my wife. On a summer night we went there sat outside on the canal it was the perfect night. Ever since then we go back for dining for special occasions or just a date night. The lobster quesadillas are to die for. This last time I had Scallops and Risotto it was amazing .
