Everything was fine except for the cigarette smoke. We ate outside.
Oysters on the 1/2 shell were delicious (blue points).. Pricey but delicious. I've gotten same freshness for $1 per oyster on the north shore.. The view is great u see the boardwalk and a beautiful sunset.. Cool outside seating. The restaurant itself has a really nice mix of a fine dining feel and modern more contemporary venue. Drinks were good. Nothing out of this world. But good. Def will recommend for a nice sunset date ..
Had a last minute group of 12 and the staff made space... Fast, courteous and good food! Positive experience and a good location on the water.
The lobster rolls eres filled with chunks of succulent lobster; the cole slaw accompaniment was sweet and crunchy; the breeze was soft! Making for a perfect lunch with friends.

We've been to the Oar before and wanted to have lunch outside. What a good choice we made. Tropical drinks (Blueberry Breeze and Cucumber Martini) paired with PEI Mussels in a white wine sauce were the perfect starters as we sat next to docks boats. The sky was overcast and the wind was blowing but the conditions were great for outdoor dining. Always a great seafood meal! Great lobster night beautiful sunset!
My only complaint was the music was to loud sitting outside, we could not have any conversation will the band was playing.
Food was good, par for the area.. For what you're paying you'd expect the waitress to cut the foil on the bottle of wine before she pulls the cork through it though.
