I reserved at The Oar a couple of weeks before Mother's Day. When I arrived, I requested outdoor dining, and was told that outdoor dining was ONLY for walkins! When I questioned this policy, I was told, that "yes, but they will have to wait 2 hours for a table." I do not have enough accolades for The Oar. It is truly a neighborhood find. I have lived in Patchogue for 20 years and am ashamed to admit, I did not know this restaurant was there. The food is excellent and so is the service! It is a lively place, however, its livelyness did not encroach on our special and romantic event.
Was in the area so decided to try but were so.ewhat rushed, they were very accommodating to our time and food was fresh and tasty and good. Also for money
Went to The Oar for a nice lunch outside. It was great. Right on the marina for a nice view and the food and service were excellent. Will definitely be back.
This is the perfect place to take a group or a small party. Food is amazing, but the bar is VERY loud. I would not recommend dinner here for a romantic night, but a Friday or Saturday date night would be perfect. The food is fresh and quite tasty. The service is slow, but the staff is very good and keeps you appraised as to the food delivery. I had a great time and will return.
We went for the Live music by one of our local favorites - Danny Kean aka The Blind Man:) We didn't know what to expect for the food, so I played it safe and ordered pasta.... Sven though it was so busy and they were understaffed. Our server was great! The management and hosting station from my previous experience unproved.
Always love the Oar! Once the weather gets nice it gets very busy but the food is always delicious. One of my favorite local restaurants.
We love Saturday afternoons at the OAR. We usually make a full meal of appetizers, since they are all half-priced on Sat. afternoons. The service with Luca and Abby is quick and professional, yet hospitable.
