The lobster quesadilla's are great here and the view is beautiful!
Never disappointed. It is always a good time at the Oar. The weather, the scenery and the food, AWESOME.
Dined at the Oar on a recent, very busy Saturday night. Was able to get a last minute reservation thru Open Table and got seated right away even though the place had a line out the door. The mushroom and shrimp bisque was excellent. Chilean Sea Bass a bit dry but good too. Mussels had a weird smokey taste, they were not that good. This place is all about ourdoor dining riverside. Great views and great for people watching. Or go just for the bar scene year round.

Perched on a canal off a side street in Patchogue, we have always loved this cozy restaurant. Drinks were perfect, clams on the half shell the way they are supposed to be served and a wonderful waitress. We have lived in Florida for the past 10 years, but just like a deli bacon, egg and cheese on a seeded roll or a pizza and Italian ice.....The Oar is a must stop.
Me and my brothers treated my dad to a 69th birthday dinner!! We truly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back on a beautif sunny day!! Staff was friendly, music was good and food was great!! In addition, the prices were very reasonable especially for the portions!
Have been coming here since day one ,and have seen the oar turn into the great place it is today.. My Mother's Day was great thanks to everyone at the oar.. Already planning my next visit...
The dinners seem to be gearing up for the summer rush. The sides now are quick and simple, e.g. a rice pilaf kind of thing as opposed to some very good garlic mashed potatoes. If you are going for fine dinning and not just drinks on a canal I would wait until after Labor Day.
Asked for a romantic table and was seated right by the window overlooking the water, beautiful! Service was very nice and attentive, we wanted to take our time and we did not feel rushed at all! Food was delicious! Only suggestion would be maybe some pull down shades? The sun glare was strong and hot! Can't wait to go back when the outside patio is open!
