We went on a Saturday night and thought we could get an outdoor table but were told there was a 45 minute wait even though we had a reservation. So we were seated inside, next to the bar that was a little too noisy and made it difficult for us to have a conversation. Our waitress was very nice and provided good service. First time for my friend. She enjoyed the atmosphere and the view.
First time there was a big hit. If you think this is just a burger place as I did you would be dead wrong. Had the Pork Osso Bucco, it rivaled any Italian restaurants although the sauce on the pasta was not to my liking. Tuna Tartar was great as was the raw clams. After dinner hanging out listening to the band was a bonus. Solid A in my book.

First time there and everything was good.we really enjoyed the food
We had outstanding fresh striped bass. They served a generous portion.
Always a nice time eating out on the Southshore. The nicer the weather the more crowded you will find this place. Tons of locals dine here and they do have valet parking on the weekends. Seafood selection is nice and they are moderately priced.

Wish I would have found The Oar earlier. Living on LI always looking for a good place to eat with a water view. Had lunch and was very good. Trying dinner next.
