Sadly downgrading my original review. I really want to love this place. There are a couple of really engaged and engaging folks here, but the quality of service is just too variable. Also, I don't see some of my favorite people there anymore who used to really get dogs and also had some people skills, too. New folks seem to be bored, and in a word, just rude. I just picked up my dog from boarding and while she had a private room plus a walk a day, I've never seen her this sad and exhausted coming back from boarding before. I... read more

Business response:

Sophia, We strive to be the best at what we do, we deeply apologize we failed to meet yours and our own high standards in any way. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your review with you to better understand what occurred and how I can ensure we improve and learn from this. I'm a bit confused, as the staff at the front desk is the same staff as we have had for many years, as is almost are entire staff. The two young ladies at the front desk yesterday have been with us for a combined almost 20 years. T... read more

Very disappointed after our dogs stay last night/today. We decided to board our dog on our wedding day after having multiple people recommend Pet Spot. When my husband picked Rosie up this morning she seemed fine. Once we got her home we noticed multiple wounds on her stomach. She has also thrown up five times since we got her home. Nothing like the stress of a sick dog to keep us up the night before our honeymoon. I understand dogs get stressed from being in a different environment but none of the workers let us know she wa... read more

Business response:

Valued Customers, Congratulations on your recent wedding. I'm writing you instead of calling because I assume you are on your honeymoon. I would never disrespect this special time for you by calling and interrupting you. However, I felt it necessary to reach out. I am sorry to hear that you had anything less than a perfect experience at The Pet Spot. We strive to be the best at what we do and deeply care about the safety and well being of all of our guests . Our hard work and dedication for over 12 years has resulted ... read more

My 2 dogs stayed there for a week and came home with kennel cough. When I called they said to take to vet. I asked if they'd reimburse me for vet expenses and medicines, they said no. I'm not very happy about my dogs coming home sick! Beware if you are looking for a kennel that they were not very caring or interested in reimbursing me for expenses due to sickness they got at their kennel.

Update: I wanted to write an update from my previous review because it has been two days now since I picked my dog up from a long weekend at Pet Spot and she has had bad diarrhea since. She woke me up every hour on the hour last night to go outside and poop (pure liquid stool). I just got back from the vet and $105 later for the visit and medication I am hoping that she will start to feel better. Basically my poor decision to leave my dog at Pet Spot has put more stress on my dog than I could have imagined and cost me $105... read more

After I filled out my dogs profiles and submitted record information, they told me to bring my dog in. I have an American Bull Dog Pitbull Mix who is a gentle giant and is very docile and submissive. He is a big baby and on that day, he was scared of all the commotion and sat on his butt at the entrance and I had to push him in. The owner came over (who wasnt helping me before) and told me my dog couldnt be there and kept repeating "pitbull" over and over... it was very sad. Breed stereotyping is not okay!! I cried the whole... read more

Don't risk your dog's health here! I just boarded my two dogs. One is hospitalized with vomiting and a 106 degree fever. He may or may not live. The other has a runny nose, lower fever and malaise. He is being treated at home after a visit to vet. I called to alert them to sanitize the areas where my dogs were. I was put through to the owners phone and left a message. I have not received a return phone call. I posted a review on the pet spot website, but my negative review has not been posted. Update: I did r... read more

I am a new customer to PetSpot and I am extremely disappointed. I was recommended to take my 8 month chocolate lab Reese here by several co-workers and friends. I was thrilled to hear such great things so I decided to take advantage of the $85 Groupon which included the temperament test, two grooming's and 10 daycare visits. After purchasing the Groupon we were excited to try it out, I was amazed by how clean and welcoming the space was when walking in. Everyone was so friendly and I felt great about leaving my pup here. After tiptoeing through the gamut of dog boarding options in Cincinnati, we ended up on the one closest to our house. Pet Spot is less than 10 minutes from Ault Park and is pretty similar to every other massive dog boarding facility around here. They don't have staff overnight so your dog will be locked in a cage (or villa) without anyone around if something were to go wrong. They also charge a full extra day if you pick up after 11am, which seems crazy. We dropped off on Friday at 3pm and picked up on Sunday at 1pm. That so... read more

I brought my small 17 lb dog in to get her nails trimmed. When I came in the woman who was at the desk was annoyed that I was even speaking to her. When she went to go find a groomer she was not happy. When the groomer came out she stunk of cigarette smoke. When I asked if I could come back with her she said "dogs usually become more anxious when their owners come back", okay I can understand that, but the "groomer" knew nothing about my dog and my dogs timidness made me nervous. She never asked what my dogs name was and wou... read more
