My dog died from a collapsed trachea, which he had no prior history of, ten hours after being boarded at The Pet Spot. Their way of trying to resolve it was agreeing to pay his vet bill as long as I signed something stating I would not to tell anyone it happened, which I obviously chose not to sign. If you don't see any bad reviews here, chances are it's because they've silenced anyone who has had something tragic like this happen to their pet while being boarded as well.

I can honestly say that I've never had such a worse experience. We actually visited them approximately 5 months ago to board our cat for 3 days while we went on a short trip. We had a coupon for a free day with a multi day visit and were told we'd pay at pickup. We returned from our trip to have them tell us they wouldn't honor the coupon since the stay wasn't long enough, we paid the $50 and left. Only today, 5 months later to get a text message from one of the employees and no official invoice or explanation demanding $71... read more

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We know that you spoke with Susan yesterday regarding this issue. The customer service manager (Megan) did leave a message and would like to hear back from you regarding how this was handled. Again, we are very sorry for this and hope you will give us a chance to make this right. Thank you, The Pet Spot

I took my yellow lab here about a month ago and paid almost $90 for the full bath, groom, and brush out mainly because of how much labs shed. When I picked her up it did not appear she had been brushed at all which I thought was strange. Then when I got home and pet her, more hair was falling off than when I took her. They absolutely did not brush her so essentially I paid $90 for trimming her nails and giving her a bath. Will not be going back.

I dropped my puppy off here and when I went to pick her up I noticed a red spot on her fur. She has black fur, so I went to look and realized she had been bitten and had a dime sized hole in her skin. I immediately went back inside and the staff couldn't tell me what happened. They had no idea that my dog had been bitten or which dog had done it. They tried to play it off as "dogs play rough sometimes". I'm very disappointed in this establishment and will never be going back. If you want your dog to be safe and looked after ... read more

Business response:

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue. Although dogs do play with their paws and teeth, we provide extensive training to our daycare team on supervision of dogs as well as how to coach dogs to have positive social interactions and correct behavior that could be problematic. We always place dogs in groups of dogs of similar temperaments and play styles. Sometimes with dogs who have thinner coats (Labradors for example), it's very easy for another dogs canine tooth to get caught on their sk... read more

We have brought our dog here several times, for boarding-daycare and grooming the staff is hit or miss, mainly a miss at daycare. Generally when we walk in with our dog the greeting is very friendly and the hand off for doggy daycare/boarding is easy. However, that's where it really ends in terms of the positives I would say. If your dog is in daycare, they have cameras-which might as well be useless as you cannot even tell which shape is your dog unless they are standing perfectly still for longer than ten seconds. Given ... read more

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. Our General Manager was just on vacation and watching her pups from afar so she knows what you're talking about first hand when it comes to the camera quality. Your experience with our staff is definitely not indicative of the staff-customer relationship that we want to have. Our hope is that all pet parents will feel at home - just like our furry... read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY NEW GENERAL MANAGER. My dogs boarded here in May. After they boarded with complimentary daycare the GM (at the time) told me to purchase a new member 10 visit daycare pass on groupon for $100. I purchased the suggested pass from groupon. Today I go to use one of the daycare visits off the $100 pass and the new GM WILL NOT HONOR the pass since they did complementary daycare with boarding back in May. I am now out $100 and the new GM will not see or speak with me. The other staff and customer ser... read more

Business response:

Hi Christine, The Groupon terms stated that the Groupon is for new clients only. We would have been happy to work with you since you indicated you had a note from the previous General Manager but you had already received a refund from Groupon before speaking with our current General Manager. We apologize again for the confusion over what number to call you at regarding the issue - our goal is always to respond to customers within 24 hours if not sooner. We really hope that this will not be your last impression of The P... read more

I brought my dog in here to get groomed. Staff was friendly when I brought her in. They said it would be about two hours and it did take about that long. When I went to pick her up the lady told me the amount, I paid, got my dog and left. I didn't look at her closely until I got home because I was in a bit of a rush. When I started to exam her when I got home I noticed her coat was cut a decent amount shorter than i asked and the hair on her ears and tail were really long. I called as soon as I noticed and told them I was un... read more

If are okay with over-paying for your dog getting injured and sick during a stay, this would be the best place to take them. A giant red flag should have been the extra charge they have for "insurance" during the dogs stay, or waiver you are required to sign if you decide to not buy it. This is not common practice in my experience. I believe that enough customers have had experience similar to mine (noted below) that instead of fixing the problems they have and taking care of the dogs better, they are charging people even mo... read more

Valued Customer: We take your feedback to heart and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns. I assure you our boarding contract is similar to that of every boarding facility in our industry. Our insurance offering is completely optional, something many of our customers appreciate, and covers claims exactly per the policy. Unfortunately, we are unable to identify your information in our client files and would appreciate it if you can give me a call at your earliest convenience. I look forward to speaking wi... read more

First, it was not made clear that a Feline Leukemia vaccination was NOT needed for an indoor cat, so I paid $90 to have both cats vaccinated for this and then was told when the paperwork was sent that it wasn't necessary. This might have been acceptable....a mix up in communication...but the staff was very rude about it to make matters worse. Next the dates were off on my reservation and needed adjustment. Instead of offering to check the needed dates, the staff member (a different individual this time) was again very rude. ... read more

Business response:

Amanda, Thank you for your feedback. We value and appreciate any and all communication from our customers. I certainly wish you would have called me to discuss your situation and that you had a more positive first experience with The Pet Spot. You chose to inquire about our services, ask questions, obtain a quote, and make a reservation all via email. Unfortunately, you did not call and speak to us personally until after you had obtained the FELV shot for your cats. This information was on our website and is regularly av... read more
