We have been coming for 20+years when going to New York. Last time we went thought probably wouldn’t go back but we love the very thin pizza. Decided to give it one more try. Pizza/lasagna great. Chix parm huge and good. Caesar salad and octopus just ok. Service was terrible. We got there at 12:30 and told them we had to leave by 2. Waiter was non existent most of time. It was very impersonal, a challenge checking in, difficult to seat the customers despite having made a reservation. Both my friend and I have orthopedic issues and cannot walk up steps to the second floor!
The overall experience was substandard. We arrived on time and were placed in a long line of patrons who had reservations for the same time as us. We waited in line 20 minutes before being seated. When we were finally seated, we were so close to the next table that that the two tables were practically connected. My veal piccata was good. My wife enjoyed her veal chop. Everything about this place feels cheap the food was only okay and the prices are way to high for what you receive
Place is so packed you cannot enjoy your dinner .... they have the tables so tight the staff can’t get by without knocking into you.
Indifferent meal, limited menu, no tablecloth, warm wine, scrum at the entrance area etc We won’t go back
I miss the personal touch the first many years under Saundra and her team who made it feel like a special evening. This was formulaic and ordinary.
The restaurant was tightly packed and extremely noisy. The food, while well-prepared, was far from memorable. The service was good up until dessert; although our waiter asked both my wife and I what we wanted, and we each gave him a different choice, he only brought one dessert: mine. At first we thought he was bringing each separately, but it quickly became clear that my wife's dessert was NOT being brought. I paid the bill and we left.
