The ambience, the service and the wine list are excellent. The menu is somewhat limited and the preparation was fine, just not outstanding.

My husband and I love this restaurant, but I have to say it was somewhat off this night. Dover sole was a special, someone ordered it and it was dry. He is not a complainer, but the kitchen should have been made aware of this. Two people ordered the grilled veal chop and it came with some kind of sauce on it and having had that before, what they usually order (grilled veal chop ) does not have a sauce on it. A friend and I enjoyed dinner before a concert at Carnegie Hall, across the street. Service was enthusiastic, friendly and accommodating to our schedule. Portions were ample. The three antipasti we ordered, as well as the thin-crust pizza, were wonderful, as was my friend's "101-layer" lasagna and my veal piccata. The spaghetti with clams was superb. My husband commented that he was over-fed with the huge lasagna. We adored the artichokes. But what I like most about the Trattoria del Arte is the vivacity of the environment. One feels happy here.

My friends and myself had a great time together thanks to low noise level and juicy food based on good discussion. After any classical concert a great place to feel the recharged batteries.

We had 7:00 reservation on a Tuesday night which put us right in the middle of the pre-theater crowd. Nonetheless we were seated almost immediately. The host gave us what he refers to as the “Prince and Princess” table located in an alcove at the back of the main dining room. We were seated side by side and enjoyed a view of the entire restaurant. I started with the ribolito soup while my wife chose the beet and goat cheese salad. We shared the prosciutto platter. For entrees, we went with the tuna and the branzino. The tuna... read more

Never disappoints! Our favorite spot for late night comfort food after a broadway show or just in from the airport. Cozy and delicious!
