The Trattoria is located directly across 7th Ave from Carnagie Hall and has developed a service offering tailored to that clientele. My son and I were to attend a Satrday concert at 7 pm at the Hall - and had made 5:30 pm reservations at the Trattoria. Any concerns I had about the place being half empty or less were quickly dispelled. At 5:30, the atmosphere was what a diner might anticpate at 8:00 pm at other restaurants. The place was buzzing. The Maitre d' was friendly, gracious, welcoming and smooth; a pro's pro, as was ... read more

I always have a great time at this restaurant. The food is wonderful, the servers are always pleasant, helpful and responsive, and everyone I have ever introduced to Trattoria dell'Arte has thoroughly enjoyed it. Try the veal chop parmigiana (big enough to share), the tuna, the fried artichokes and the antipasto bar. Pasta and pizza too. Oh go try everything! Do make a reservation, especially on Sat. night...it is packed.

This restaurant was recommended to me and after my experience ,I will surely be recommending it to all of my friends. Upon entering we were greeted by a very friendly staff. There were four of us having dinner and we all agreed that the 101 layer lasagna was the BEST ! There was a slight mix up with 2 of our dinners but our waiter made up for it even though we never said a word. We loved their home made desserts and cookie!! Our waiter was the best! We will definitely return.

The service was great, but our food was nothing special. We ordered 4 items from the antipasto bar. 2 were supposed to be cold and 2 hot. All came cold. Our main courses I has veal Marsala, were not very good. The veal was rubbery, and the sauce was boring. My husbands veal piccata was better, but still nothing special. We will probably go back one more time, since it's close to the theaters, and the service was great, beginning with the maitre de. But try pasta or something safer than veal.

Let's start by us being 10 late for our reservation. They didn't even flinch. In fact, we we're literally greeted with HUGS from Brandon who was for lack of a better word, amazing. We were sat right away and we let the staff know we had to leave within the hour to catch a Broadway show. I brought my wife here from CT as a birthday treat. They were completely accomodating and had time for appetizers, dinner and dessert which included a sparkler! Would totally come back. The food was exquisite. From candied carrots to seafood ... read more

this place was so wonderful. We were in NYC for a long weekend and went there twice. Pizza terrific and the 110 layer lasagna was delicious. A bit pricey but not for NYC. Worth every penny. Go after 8pm if you don't have theater tickets because it is less crowded.

We returned to Trattoria Dell'Arte for the umpteenth time for pre-theater dining. It proved reliable again, as it has through the years. The service seemed especially pleasant, from the maitre to the waiter. The artichokes alla Giudea are just ok, but the veal piccata and tagliolini al forno are both tasty and well prepared. The chocolate chip cannoli were the highpoint of the evening. Nice wine selection by the glass. If you are attending the theater or Carnegie Hall (right across the street), this is a good place to eat wi... read more

Wonderful, energetic New York Italian restaurant. Great food with gigantic portions, especially the desserts. Suitable for sharing!
