Buffalo mozzarella was good as well as the prosciutto. The filet (large) was very flavorful but I asked for it medium but they made it almost fully well-done. Rosemary potatoes were good but prepared dry and the strak wasn't that juicy so I was mostly parched throughout. For 222 bucks for 2 with 1 drink, I expected better. Should have had pasta.

We had booked on Opentable, but it was obvious reservations weren't honored. They were very friendly though, handing out Prosecco and asking us to wait 10-20 minutes. The meat and fish dishes were better than the pasta. The antipasti table was fabulous. Good desserts. We had a nice time in a very buzzy restaurant.

I go to Trattoria dell'Arte for the antipasto bar. It's classic and delicious. The service is extremely friendly -- staff and servers almost over-the-top in their familiarity and warmth to even this occasional traveler to New York: "Weren't you sitting over there the last time you were here?" "Good guess, you had a 50/50 shot, but no. I've only been here twice before, and several months ago at that. You couldn't possibly really remember me." But it was an amusing con. I can't wait to go back for Cannellini and Kale, Fried Ar... read more

As long as you don't mind shouting, this place has great food and service. Try not to sit in a booth, unless you don't mind getting bumped back and forth by the animated conversationalist behind you. Fun place and vibrant atmosphere, but not your quiet, romantic anniversary setting.

The restaurant is right across from Carnegie Hall, in a great location. The place was jam-packed for dinner on a Monday night. The host and the servers were friendly. A wide selection to choose from for food and wine. And especially good options for non-meat eaters with a great veggie antipasto bar to choose from (as well as seafood options). Even in NYC, I found a little sticker shock. Ordered a nice half bottle of red for $50. And the three choice veggie appetizer was in the 20s. We stuck to the wine and two antipasto firs... read more

This is not the first time we have been to the restaurant and all in all the experience was great. The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and helpful and yet did not come across as pushy and she makes us feel that nothing is more important than to enjoy our meal!

The food here is delicious and the antipasti is superb, but the staff makes the dining experience here really special. Richard, the manager and his staff are very good at what they do and most attentive to the needs of their clients. We ate her three times within a short time frame and felt we were going back to a warm and familiar place. Try the soft shell crabs if they are in season, their famous lasagna and choose among their wonderful cold antipasti offerings. The menu is extensive and the wines carefully selected.
