There is nothing that I value more than honesty, and I really appreciated that staff said we would be pushing it to linger for dessert and coffee if we wanted to make the show. Food was EXCELLENT! Wine list as well! Not too many places can accommodate a large group of 8 but we felt like we were in good hands from the moment we stepped in - persons guiding us through the building, taking our rain soaked coats and settling us in for a great evening. We sampled the dessert Chef's skills with a quick slice of mereigne Cake as a ... read more
Warm welcome as we arrived. Seated quickly. First waiter not very helpful regarding gluten free options. However, our waitress helped to give us all available options. Food was excellent. Overall good experience.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of NYC! A little pricey but totally worth it.
Super convenient to Carnegie Hall and the food was surprisingly good considering this is likely a tourist place. My wife and I particularly enjoyed the bread which is baked on premises - out of this world. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating.
We had a first-rate experience before a show at Carnegie hall.....food was excellent; service was first rate. I cannot imagine a better alternative as a pre-show option to consider. The location is perfect. We were warmly greeted on arrival and the servers "got" the notion of ensuring we were on time to the performance.
Everytime I am in NYC, I make it a point to dine at Trattoria Del'Arte at least once. I had the Lobster Spaghetti Carbonara and it was fantastic. It was a perfect blend of breakfast and dinner. I was a little skeptical about the egg on top but when mixed with the lobster and bacon it was awesome.
You would have trouble finding a more pleasant, energetic and friendly atmosphere in a NYC restaurant. It begins with the greeting walking in the door. You are made to feel welcome immediately and if you are a repeat customer, you feel like a VIP. I had the infamous veal pamiggiana on the bone, pounded to perfection. It was even better than I ever remember it.. I was in food heaven with every bite. I find the wine pricing to be on par but the spirits prices are too high, even for NYC. It was a very nice evening.
The service here was outstanding, the maitre d' was extremely personable and kind and our waitress was very abiding. The food however, was of mediocre quality - especially considering the price you pay. I did enjoy the Pappardelle with Eggplant Parm and the antipasto that we ordered, but the steak was dry and the Lobster Seafood Risotto was too gritty (which lead us to believe that the clams had not been cleaned thoroughly enough) that my mother did not want to finish her meal.
Great for pre theater - very good food, plated nicely and excellent attentive service even though it was pre concert and packed.
