Always a star. Rich and team make this spot a go to all the time. It's my dining room!
I made this reservation based on reviews I had read and it far exceeded my expectations. We started with the fried artichokes for something different and enjoyed them. The burata with prosciutto was a must have. Our entrees included the scallops with truffles, an Italian sea bass, and the veal parmigiana. All were delicious. The favorite part of the meal was the sweet ending... Best cannolli I have ever had! Kudos go out to our waiter Sean. He was very attentive but not overbearing. Would definitely eat here again. I have eaten here a few times and always good food. Great place but when super crowded can get a little loud.
Then Trattoria dell"arte is the place to go. It is directly across from the revered concert arena and is used to the preconcert clientele. The food is ok though contains way too much oil and salt to be considered fine dining.
We lunched mid week. Restaurant was busy but we were seated promptly. Everyone was cheerful & polite. Artsy interior, bright & colorful. We had a 3 vegetable appetizer...excellent. Entrees were veal piccata (good) and vegetarian (veal like) parmigiana (fabulous). Vegetarians and carnivores can co-exist happily here. We will try to have at least one meal here when we are in the city.
The food and service were as always terrific. This is one of my favorite pre and post theatre restaurants.
Expensive but conveniently located close to theatres. 100 layer lasagna was very tasty.
Not sure if the kitchen was overwhelmed by superbowl fans but both our Veal entrees were not what we expected. The Osso Buco was not well seasoned and was not fresh. The antipasto choices were either under or over-seasoned, brussell sprouts dry, eggplant caponata salty; grilled asparagus was good. My guest comes from a family of chefs, veal was a miss. I think the pasta or chicken dishes would have been better choices they looked good. Decor is beautiful, people were having fun, lively conversations; we were on our way to a ... read more
Dined here Saturday night before attending a Carnegie Hall performance. Everything was perfection, from the service to the last bite of cannoli. Thank you for a memorable evening.
