This was my third or fourth time at Trattoria. The service was amazing and yet not intrusive, the food was absolutely top quality and the tastes were carefully thought out. Notable menu items included the stracciatella soup, the pasta carbonara, and the sumptuous buffet of salads and vegetables which my dining partners enjoyed immensely. Always a treat to dine at this consistently excellent restaurant. Friendly, fast service. Caring, well-trained staff.

Indeed, it's a little dated. The food however was still excellent. Personally, I'd stay away from the veal parm (their "signature" dish) as anything so big is going to be junky - and it was. In this respect, a little more focus on quality as opposed to quantity could go a long way - and without question our "smaller" dishes paid off. Of c... read more

I go to NY twice a year. I have been eating at Trattoria every trip for the past 10 years. The veal parmigiana is just the best in the entire World. I call it the elephant ear !! A bucket list.

It was particularly pleasant to dine early, before Carnegie Hall. Very friendly welcome from everyone, delicious dinner. It's always happy to go there for any meal of the day.
