The food was delicious, including some of the best mussels I have had. Everyone was gracious from the moment we walked into the restaurant. And they did not rush us at all. I return to this restaurant over and over again because of the excellent food, service and care.
Convenient restaurant to the theater district. Sunday brunch is good, but nothing special.
The food is always great...the pizza and veal parm are ridiculously large and oh so good! Great risotto and overall good waiters.
Having read so many reviews about Trattoria Dell' Arte, I was expecting superior food and service. So, I was surprised when we went there after a Carnegie Hall event. The food was fine but certainly not among the best Italian I had in NY and the service was hurried. Granted, it was a busy night, but I suspect that this must be the case all the time, considering it's across the street from Carnegie Hall. So, overall, it was OK, but for the price we paid, I was expecting more.
The choices at the antipasto bar are delectable -- fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, marinated artichokes and mushrooms, scallop salad, calamari, shrimp, prosciutto -- all the usual suspects. The Trattoria also offers carciofi alla Giudia (delicious, though not the flattened Roman version of this dish). Entrees are authentically Italian. Staff was attentive and very warm, even funny, without being inappropriately over-friendly. They gave me the impression of enjoying being there. My leisurely lunch was a perfect treat.
I made reservations for my sister's 30th birthday... a dinner with a few friends before we brought her to her surprise party down the block. We had a blast! The food was delicious and our waitress was friendly and easy to joke with. Once they found out it was her birthday, we got a round of free champagne and a round of free drinks at the bar after dinner. My sister mentioned that she didn't want anyone singing happy birthday, like the table next to us... so instead, the waitress brought out about 10-15 pink balloons! It was... read more
I've been here many times as the food is outstanding, the service spot-on and the drinks are plentiful. It's always a great place to impress a client. Save room for dessert.
Server was fun, courteous, and caring.
Great for dining before heading over to Carnegie Hall for a performance. Service was expedient but not rushed, food was delicious. Yellowfin tuna was perfectly prepared, served rare with a light dressing enhanced the taste of the fish.
