This restaurant excells at everything...good...friendliness..ambiance...a lovely experience on all fronts
Enthusiastic crowd, everything from couples to theatre groups to work groups to girls night-out were there (On a Wednesday night). Wait staff was very attentive & helpful, host remembered our names when we left, all in all a very pleasant experience. The food was good along with the wine, prices were reasonable given the location.
Love the decor, food, and location! Been eating there for years and it's still one of the best. The veal chop is unbelievable--enough for two. I recommend the mussels as an appetizer and one order serves two. We've never had dessert, because we're too full, but they look really good. Easy to make reservations using Open Table.
After attending a graduation at Carnegie Hall, we dashed across the street with a significant group of other parties. Despite the crush of people the maitre d' and wait staff were very patient and congenial. We were seated on time, a small miracle given the crowd, and were given a delightful corner table upstairs. The food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. Everyone in my party was very pleased.
Went after graduation at Carnegie Hall. Great Pizza, Veal parm--ala carte menu-- some pricy but to be shared as portions are very large. Vibrant atmosphere, great friendly staff but def need reservation-we were seated right away. Service a bit slow as there were large groups but a great time was had by all.. Good wine list, great coffee and desserts as well.
I have been going to them for years for their veal parmesan. It is so big and well pounded down that my some said it looked like a pizza for two
Wife and I were trying to decide which of the always excellent antipasti to have, when I heard a waiter behind me tell a diner they had a special of soft shell crabs. I asked the waiter why he hadn't mentioned that to us, and he said they were just told by the kitchen. He told us whenever they had them, they were gone within an hour. We ordered them immediately. They were simply the very best soft shell crabs we have EVER eaten. A total triumph!!
Marco Polo gave us an outstanding night. Food service and attention to detail, all excellent.
This was our second visit ! The food is just wonderful! I guarantee you have never seen a veal or chicken cutlet the size of the ones they serve here! Our server made us feel like we were his most important customers, even though the restaurant was packed and the place was bustling. They have a great wine list. Even the location of the restaurant is wonderful. Even with all of the hundreds of restaurants in NYC to try, I know I will be back
