The food was good but the service was quite slow. We told our waiter we had an 8 o'clock show and with a 6:15 reservation we shouldn't have had a problem. We kept having to go to the bar ourselves to get our drinks refilled and dinner came out slowly. But the bill came out even more slowly and we didn't get out of there until 7:50 which left us rushing to get to our seats at Carnegie Hall.

We were tourists from Alabama and enjoy eating at Trattoria Dell'Arte every time we're in NYC. Particularly enjoyed our window table looking at Carnegie Hall.

We had a great lunch, seated at a booth in front with plenty of room. We had delicious food (I had ravioli and my guest had fish) with a very good glass of Gavi (Italian white wine) each. We shared the two desserts offered in the pris fixe menu. I was particularly impressed by our (French) waiter, who remained unflappable and considerate when my guest accidentally knocked over his water glass. We went there after a concert at Carnegie Hall. It is just around the corner and open late, so very convenient. We walked in at 11:00 and the room was very lively and appealing. But the food disappointed. I may have been spoiled by the truly excellent food I've had at many restaurants lately; this was all right and I ate it all, but it seemed tired and uninspired. But, to their credit, the drinks came right away. Often not the case, for some strange reason. So my bottom line is, I might return for convenience, otherwise, not... read more

Excellent Service,Maitre D, Waiter, Server, Coat Check Girl all great. We were not as enamored with the Antipasti bar as others as it is not quite what you might expect. However, I agree with all the Burratta was out of this world. Well worth going to, very reasonable for Manhattan, The food was good but if you're looking for romantic, quiet, or a neighborhood favorite head elsewhere.

When we three sat down, at first there was a blast of cold air, which we found uncomfortable: it was shut off, and our maitre-d' explained to us that the air cond. system went on and off depending on the heat and number of customers. Our food was excellent: veal (which was HUGE!), rabbit with vegetables and pasta, and a delicious seafood risotto, perfectly cooked. We three shared a lemon tart dessert, which was also very good. Cabernet by the glass was consumed with relish, and we had the pleasure of conversation until at le... read more
