We were four and they sat us in the wine room where it is less noisy. The food choices were great and they were able to get us out on time even though we started a little late. This restaurant is definitely a winner and one I will return to again.
Reception a bit over the top in terms theatrical welcome...maitre D was ready for a highly vocal role on Broadway. Excellent place to have light dinner before Carnegie Hall performance, but wouldn't dream of choosing Trattoria for itself, if I was looking for a high quality gourmet dining experience : there are too many better alternatives which outpace it. Good management of time to get to Carnegie Hall promptly.
Great place, have been coming for years with my family and it was every bit as amazing when I came with my girlfriend.
Great pre-Carnegie Hall dining. Food served quickly yet not rushed. Restaurant is noisy and prices are high but normal for the area.
Very pleased with the service and environment of the restaurant. Host treated us with champagne while our table was being readied. Our waiter was very hospitable and helpful, and checked up on us on a frequent basis. Food was great, nothing over the top but prepared well especially for its price. Good wine selections as well.
we are pre concert regulars. A winner.one of our faves. love the antipasto. pricey but great!
The thin crust pizza supreme was perfect. The cannolis were the best I've ever had and the coffee (regular black) was extraordinary. My wife had the lobster risotto which was very tasty, but definitely short on lobster. Prices are very high, but we splurged. If you make a reservation ask for a table in the back out of all the traffic and people waiting around to be seated.
Friendly. Good for casual or business. Always delivers. Food is consistently top notch. Ambiance is light and open.
Duck steak was excellent, as was the unusual caprese salad. Overall a very good food experience. Not unlike most NYC restaurants, it is too crowded.
