Since the closest Eataly is only in Manhattan, one of our local go-to Italian markets is Uncle Giuseppe's. With two locations in Nassau County, I usually prefer going to this location since the East Meadow one has a smaller lot. It has the usual bells and whistles of a market with various groceries, deli counter, gourmet cheeses, fresh pasta, sauce and baked goods. Delicious food beautifully prepared. I used UGs for my sister's baby naming which was on Passover so we couldn't have bread and my sister has allergies to dairy, fish and nuts! Quite a list for any chef to work around !!! Yet Carol and the staff at UGs worked with me and made my party spectacular!!! The salmon teriyaki went so fast I was sorry I didn't order more! Going back in time, and finding the foods from your childhood isn't easy. Uncle G makes it possible! From their amazing nociolla gelato to cascavallo! Coming from Brooklyn/Queens raises your standards, and by far Uncle G has too if the line authenticity! Must haves: rice balls, prima Donna cheese and fig loaf with tiny square crackers, canoli cream, braided bread and their antipasto items!

There's no other produce section like the one here in Port Jefferson's Uncle Giuseppe's. You can find certain produce here that you can't find in a general supermarket. Several types of oranges, pears, and some exotic fruits. After the produce section I walked into the cheese section.
