This is the best supermarket I've ever been to!! Everyone is so nice, helpful, and informative. The guy who works in the fish department is always so nice and helps me decide on what to get if I'm being indecisive but he's never pushy like some other places can be. And he NEVER rushes us to make a decision. I think it's the store manager...he is very attentive. Returning from the beach deciding on what to make for dinner. Passing this great place! Stopped by and was exceptionally pleased. Got to deli counter and ordered a little of this and s little of that. The chicken cutlets were cooked to perfection. We especially enjoyed the macaroni salad and mozzarella with roasted red peppers. Also picked up some produce. Cherries and peaches were ripe and very tasty. Lines to check out moved quickly. All good!

I've been here a few times now when shopping for clients. This is a small Italian gourmet market. They carry lots of great items for catering and hosting dinner parties. Don't expect to fulfill all your shopping needs here. They have a deli counter here and a refrigerated section that supplies lots of oven ready items like pasta dishes and meats. There is also a small bakery department with a nice little selection of pastries, refrigerated pasta etc. I'm not too crazy about produce here at all. Not much to choose from. T... read more

It pains me to write a negative review as I love Uncle Giuseppe's and always had positive experiences. Yesterday was my first visit to the Port Jefferson location. Among my purchases I picked up 1 1/2 lbs of biscotti. First of all they didn't have the Neapolitan variety. The case had a a few almond and pistachio that I ordered. When I got home these biscotti were rock hard. After spending almost $20 I think it is reasonable to expect fresh items. As I live in Queens, I couldn't make a trip back. Lesson learned. I have always enjoyed shopping at Uncle G,s.However ,I was disappointed with my experience today. First of all.there were no cherries for sale.When I asked a produce worker about this,he said that the store has asked.for them but none have come in for the past few weeks. I find this very puzzling because this is now prime time for cherries and I have been able to get them from other supermarkets(which I will head to tomorrow to buy ).Also,there was a sign on the rotisserie display case that organic chickens were available ... read more
