Get directionsDietrich Franczuszki conducted and botched an unnecessary surgery on my dog and refused to take responsibility for it. I showed the very same x-rays he took to two other vets, both of whom said the surgery he performed was done incorrectly and should never have been done. He put pins in my dogs hip and didn't shave them off; they were sticking out of the bone and hurting my dog when he walked. Meanwhile, my dog needs a total hip replacement which was evident from the initial x-rays which showed hip dysplasia. My dog suffered... read more
Over a year ago we brought our cat in to be put to sleep. She had had a stroke. All went well and it was far less than we thought it would be being a Sunday and an emergency. They did a great job putting her down as well. So when our new kitten became ill over the weekend, we brought her there. Well, we are horrified by the treatment. Turns out she had an abscess that needed antibiotics and drained. She was there for two days and all they did was ultrasound, give antibiotics and insist she needed an invasive surgery t... read more
I brought my beloved dog there as an emergency because she was having difficulty breathing. The Dr. ran no tests whatsoever and said it was likely a respiratory infection and gave us antibiotics. Less than 3 weeks later she passed away from what I was told was pancreatic cancer. I believe she suffered for 2 weeks where she could have been made much more comfortable if she had a competent vet that night :(
I had the most horrible experience with my dog at VRC. The dog was held hostage in the back for two hours after being admitted the day before until I paid the bill fully . I had already given them over $1000, and they wanted another $700 for meds that they gave him which turned out to make him sicker. When I disputed the charges they were not budging and after two hours of dealing with this. I proceeded to write a check and asked that he be brought to the front, only to hear from Ms. Whitehead ( finance manager) hat they w... read more
If I could give NO stars to post this review I would. Please beware of the money grab here - they recommend surgeries that your animal doesn't need, are MUCH more expensive than University of Penn and you have to wonder why? My dog needed liver shunt surgery and they wanted to do TWO surgeries to fix it to the tune of $5600 + 50% of that for second surgery. Went to Penn and paid $3K for ONE surgery and my dog is perfect! Friend had been going here and they suggested an invasive surgery for 12 year old dog that Penn to... read more
YIKES! Please be careful. The doctors and nurses that were formerly at VRC are now up the road at Hope. We tried to go there for an emergency visit the other night and had a completely different experience than we previously had at VRC. Apparently, the former critical care specialists and our internal medicine doctor is no longer there. The staff was not friendly and there was not a critical care specialist available at night. BAD news for a very sick puppy. The front desk would not give us any of this information, but ... read more
We had one excellent doctor at the beginning and had one very nice helpful nurse. This unfortunately is outweighed by massive overcharging and outright lies. All my cat really needed was a fluid tap. They kept her 2 nights for a total of $2600. Their fees are 3x or more for the same procedures as my local vet. I called to pick up my cat after 1 day, was put on hold for 20 minutes, and then told by a "nurse" if I pick her up she'll "just end up going right back in." So I leave her another day and another $1000. She did... read more
Hate Hate Hate this place. We took our very sick dog there and were totally taken advantage of. They told us that surgery was needed immediately and we had to make the desicion to go through withsurgery that minute. They stated if it was a simple surgey it would be $2500 and if there were complications it would be $3500. We decided to go through with the procedure. Ironically they did not begin the operation until 2 hours after we left. Dr. Norris called us to notify us that the surgery went well ($2500)and that she wou... read more
Harsh review for a harsh doctor. Dr. Brian White was nothing but cold and cruel when we had to put our Golden down to rest. All he could talk about was cost and how he couldn't put himself in our shoes because, he'd "always have a veterinary advantage." He never once offered condolences or conveyed that he was sorry we had to put our beloved dog of 12 years to rest. Shame on this institution. They should recognize that people are putting a member of their family at peace. I will never ever recommend this place to others... read more
