Intimate atmosphere and excellent food made for a wonderful date night!
There's no doubt that WA Frost has a lovely ambience. However, our recent lunch couldn't compensate for the beautiful surroundings. I had the turkey burger which sounded delicious when I saw it on the menu. Unfortunately, it was dry, overcooked and tasteless. It came paired with a tiny cup of pumpkin soup which was tasty but took about three spoonfuls to finish. And the $12.50 price made lunch a big disappointment. My dining companion was equally disappointed with her sandwich.
W.A. Frost is our favorite restaurant, and it certainly didn't disappoint on this visit. My husband and I went with two friends, and we all had a lovely time. We were seated in the third dining room, next to the fireplace, so we were warm and cozy. The restaurant was packed (it was a Saturday night), but it was not loud. We enjoyed all our food and drinks immensely. My only complaint was that our mostly wonderful waitress was a little slow at times--we had to ask repeatedly for a dessert menu, and she didn't take our dessert... read more
Our family has a tradition of celebrating special occasions at W.A.Frost. It is a beautiful, old world, place to be. This occasion was the 90th birthday of my uncle. It was everything I could have hoped for - and more - as our waiter, who is also an opera singer, treated my uncle to a very fine "Happy Birthday" - especially sweet as my uncle has sung in choirs his whole life. I was, as usual, very impressed by all the courtesy and care.
We had a great time eating at WA Frost, and truly felt that we had dined. The ambience was cozy, the service was just right (attentive, but not over the top), and the food was delicious.
I recently took my girlfriend to W. A. Frost. Great place for a romantic date. I had flowers delivered to the restaurant, and they were on the table when we arrived. Very nice! She loved them! The meal was nice. A bit pricy, and the portion sizes, I thought, were a bit small. Very tasty though. Overall, a good restaurant.
We celebrated our anniversary here. The atmosphere was amazing and romantic. The food was exceptional, especially the pumpkin risotto! The best thing for me was the portion size - it was perfect! I could eat without feeling like I wouldn't be able to finish it all or have to take it home. A very lovely place- I highly recommend!
So enjoyed a delicious and special lunch at WA Frost with three of my closest friends. Our table was close to gigantic windows where the afternoon sun warmed up the dining room. Our server Mark was attentive, accommodating and discrete especially with my friend who is vegan. The pumpkin rutabaga soup was perfectly seasoned and beautifully garnished. Each of us was happy with our meal and the house made watermelon raspberry sorbet was a perfect finish. Excellent choice all around. I can't wait to come back and try the fall di... read more
Andrew is a fabulous waiter and we always ask for him to be our waiter. Awesome!
