Difficult at best to survive in a Covid enviornment, but WA Frost manages to do so just fine. Touchless menu and ordering. QR Code at table, scan and order from your seat. If this is the new future, WA Frost is at the front of the line. Now, this is Minnesota, and in July. What will happen in October is yet to be seen. The NY strip was excellent. Not a full menu, but good enough.
Our first date night at a restaurant since February and we couldn’t have more pleased with our choice. Everything was perfect. It rained, but the patio is set up to accommodate the rain and it didn’t bother us one bit. Felt very Covid-safe.
The way that you order and pay for your food now is through app on your phone, so the whole dinning experience is different without much interaction. I would think some older folks might find it difficult. Also, it poured rain so that put a damper on things.
While I accept responsibility for not properly using your table app for ordering, I was disappointed that we had to wait 25 minutes before we were able to flag down a staff member. He was able to expedite our order using traditional process. Shoe this didn’t work well for us this time, now that we fully understand the process, we will return. Verne Jones
WA Frost is truly a Saint Paul treasure. After months of being completely closed for Covid-19, I was worried they'd never re-open. Luckily, they survived and are now open for patio seating. You order at the table through a website (link is on a card/menu), pay in advance with your card (no contact with other people during the process) and your food arrives! It was a lovely way to Celebrate my friends birthday. The reservations were a bit too intense with all the warnings. And trying to reach anyone to make a change or ask a question was impossible. Ordering was difficult & paying each time you ordered a drink or food was too much. That part was inconvenient & I will warn people about the difficulties. Hoping for better days to enjoy a favorite place.
Great restaurant, great food with the best patio in town!
The ease of ordering on an app at the table was nice. I miss the wait staff, but understand in light of Covid. The waiter was so kind and willing to take a picture for us. He had a great personality and made the dinner even more enjoyable. Met the people at two neighboring tables that were also incredibly nice! I usually never give reviews on food, But the airline chicken and couscous was AMAZING! My husband had the salmon and that was very good as well! Thanks for a wonderful meal & experience!
The greens were bitter and the hamburgers out the outside bordered on being burnt. Had to ask several staff members when ever I had a request...for a plate to put food on, had to stop waiters to ask questions and more drinking water. I have since heard from others the food wasn't great and, of course, the surrounding at that patio were beautiful.
