Get directionsLooks nice from the outside but all I'm gonna say is read the fine print. They ended up charged us double whatever the attendant on the phone had originally told us. Make sure to ask for a list of what you're paying for beforehand!
Wag Hotels Oakland has some work to do in the area of customer service and dog care. They have the opportunity to have a very positive impact on the community, but instead are unkind, unfriendly, and extremely disorganized. This Wag Hotels location is extremely slow and inefficient and the people working at the front desk speak to customers with a disrespectful tone. Their reservation system as well as document system is also regularly not working, however, they will tell you you need a reservation or need things uploaded t... read more
I did not want to leave our dogs with Wag but we had no option. I was hoping for the best. What we ended up with is, instead, really upsetting. Our dogs were there for boarding for 2.5 days. We have 3 dogs, 2 chihuahuas and a bulldog. First, we had to pay $50 extra for EACH dog for "special" care just because they cannot go into the common playroom. Folks, that's $150X3=$450 EXTRA. No one could ever really tell what they would get as special care. Oh, someone would play with them on their own. Right. I believe they were sim... read more
I took my pups in while on vacation in the area. They had big dogs (Dalmatian size) in with my tiny pups and they had at least 35 dogs in one room. (Wish I had a picture of that). The camera was nice to be able to check on them but every time I checked it out it would glitch after a few seconds. I was also surprised that no report was given on how they thought it went after the first day. I know my pups were new to the facility but they were shaking uncontrollably and have never done this in new situations ever before. They ... read more

Hello Emily, Thank you so much for bringing your pups in for two free days of daycare so we could internally assess their playstyle and see if they are a good fit for our all day play program. We will be reaching out to you to give you a full update on their stay as all first time guests should. Unfortunately at the moment we do not provide daycare report cards but our looking to add that to our program. If you would like to return we would love to give you a tour of the facility which would include a breakdown of how ... read more
Wag is just too big and too poorly run to take care of the pets in their care. I recommend going to a more local option where you know your pet will get the level of care they deserve. For context -- we had to leave town quickly to attend a funeral and we were stuck with boarding. We chose wag because it seemed convenient and we could book online easily. We did the deluxe package and added the camera option and we're disappointed with what we saw. 1. Our dog who goes to the bathroom on a very set schedule defecated in her ... read more

Hi Teresa, First and foremost I wanted to offer my condolences for your loss. I can just imagine how difficult these times can be for you and your loved ones. Especially when you are far away from your fur babies. In terms of Frances stay. I’m sorry you were not able to get a hold of our front desk during our rush hour. We are working on hiring more staff so we can better serve our clients and guests. Although it is no excuse we like many other business have struggled a lot during the pandemic and we are just now getting ... read more
I just want to express how extremely upset I am with how my reservation was handled. My dog Kenji Nguyen have been a loyal customer for a few years. We have used boarding and all day play throughout the years. Today is his birthday, I had call to make a reservation prior. I just wanted him to play for a few hrs for his birthday then come pick him up. When I arrived, they said they were at capacity and there was only 1 staff to accommodate the dogs in that facility. They offered to put my dog in a room by himself until a spo... read more

Hi Linda, Thank you for your feedback. We are using it to ensure we don’t turn away another client again and are heavily hiring for the hotel. We don’t like to turn away clients but ultimately do so for the safety of your pet and our handlers. If you could provide me a number to reach you at I’d like to make it up to you and Kenji if possible. Best Regards, Norma Bautista
** THEY DID NOT DISCLOSE INJURY MY DOG SUSTAINED UNDER THEIR CARE ** We have a 7 month old puppy that we wanted to start getting used to boarding. He is very well socialized and has a very positive personality so gets along with anyone and does very well in puppy socials. We decided to start things off by leaving him just for a daycare experience at Wag Hotel, thinking that next time we'll keep him overnight. When we were watching the play room video though, we noticed that he kept being chased by this one dog that kept j... read more

I have been bringing my dog to Wag Oakland since it opened. I loved it, my dog seemed to love it, but a lot has changed, including daycare for senior dogs. I brought my dog for a one on one stay in March, we picked him up early, so I asked for his food so I could feed him on way home, they could not find his food, 2 meals Worth. Ok, things happen and this has happened more than once. I made a reservation for 2 day stay in May, Reservation cleared the morning we were to bring him in. Upon arrival, I was told his Bortadel... read more
Since this has happened, I have been in communication with them. The manager showed a great deal of concern and empathy for which I am grateful. Although it wasn't the objective, we were refunded the cost of our stay. The manager reported that they investigated the incident and found that the medication wasn't logged into his file. While I appreciate that they looked into it, it is still beyond frustrating to me that no one wondered why there were bags of medicine in the same tote that we brought his food in. Why didn't th... read more
