Get directionsLong over-due update, but my wife and I were never compensated and our dogs recovered after a couple days. Do not bring your business here. You're better off having a friend or family member watch over your loved-ones, or booking on Rover.
Terrible customer rapport. Check out any other options. Poor receptionist. Nothing positive

Hello Barry, We are sorry to hear about your experience and would like to talk with you to solve any issues. Thank You.
Hello! After going to Wag Oakland and viewing the tape, things definitely were not as Peter and Kayla claimed. Here's what I will say and then this goes to an outside agency for investigation. When you have 1 handler responsible for over 20 + animals alone, something is bound to happen and when you have said handler smoking her vape on the job, that can bring a whole different aspect. When we asked for the documentation we "signed" they still haven't been able to come up with anything and when we asked to speak with Peters su... read more

Hi Stella, we have tried for days to reach you via phone. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss Rocco's most recent stay. We care and are concerned about how Rocco is doing after he ingested pieces of the bed. We provide bedding to all of our guests to ensure they are comfortable and content while with us. We are so sorry that we did not pick up the filling of the bed quick enough to prevent him from eating it. I understand the more frustrating part was our lack of concern or empathy toward the situation at pick up.... read more
Don't get your dog groomed here i took my boyfriends dog there this morning and we got called back because he had a "cherry eye" when we got there i asked them what happen the groomer didnt even know how it happened. When they brought him out i took a look at his eye, that wasnt a cherry eye his eye is messed up. If you care for your pets face and really want a quality groom dont take them there. They dont care and dont even know how your pet can get hurt.

After using the service of this place for boarding a few times over the last couple of years, today I was highly, severely disappointed with my experience there. Please evaluate your method for reservations immediately before you impact one more customer's plans. I have a senior dog and never has there been one single issue with her stay there. The staff was always so welcoming. Especially to the lady who attended to me today when I showed up with my dog at about 8:40am, her attitude was so cold and unsympathetic. She behave... read more

Hello Elena, We apologize for any confusion with how our reservations work in regards to guest health. We have a great staff who can tend to dogs need and our daily care includes feeding, enrichment and administering medications. We do offer care for clients with medical issues but do have a very strict policy on pets that have heart issues including heart murmurs. We only want the best for pets that are in our care and would not want to put your pup into a stressful situation. If we were made aware of the heart murmur ... read more
After the awful experience last time I got a call back from the regional manager. She was very understanding and said that in fact no injuries were sustained by wag staff- just a tear in sweater as can happen with a big exuberant pup. Manager promised she would speak with staff to understand how a less experienced person was put into the position of handling a dog outside their capabilities. She said experienced staff were in tears at the thought of not having my dog back because they adore him. No phone calls or emails came... read more

Terrible experience and we won't be coming back to the Wag hotel. We made a reservation for our pup to board at the Wag hotel as a last resort and we will not be coming back. When we arrived, I gave the person at the front desk my name and my dog was abruptly taken from me without so much as a word from the person who took him. It wasn't until after my dog had been taken into the back that I was informed of an extra $50 charge per day that was not listed anywhere on the website or anywhere on my reservation. The front desk... read more

My experience with Wags was wonderful when dropping my dog off for All Day Play over the course of several months. I even recommended Wags to several of my neighbors. The incident which has changed my view of Wags happen when I dropped my dog off for boarding for two days. I bought $70 worth food for my pup, thinking there would be plenty of food with some left over for the rest of the week when I returned. When picking my dog up I asked the front desk attendant for the remainder of the food. She stated (without even check... read more
A phone call with Wag staff did nothing except say that they were not at fault and couldnt do anything because my dog nearly died AFTER she had already left their hotel. Which would not have happened if it weren't for their negligence. I truly don't have any reason to believe they didn't just put my dogs in a room somewhere and forgot about them. This incident happened in October 2021 and I'm STILL paying off my dog's vet bill!

Hi Avery, My name is Norma and I'm the Client Services Manager here at Wag Hotels in Oakland. I remember Meadow and Susu from their previous 2 stays and I'm so sorry to hear about Meadow needing emergency surgery. We are relived to hear that she is now home recovering! Meadow and Susu visited on 2 separate occasions for day stay where they enjoyed a private room together with open access to bedding, water, and 2 hour long group play-times during the day. They were a bit on the shy side, but did warm up to the staff here... read more
