You don't always have a choice of companies when you take out a policy. My 25 year old policy has changed companies 3 times. The latest one is with Washington National. It has matured and when I tried to redeem my total, was told the amount was deposited with Northern Trust Bank. It took me 4 hours on the phone,6 different persons and 2 different days to finally find someone who could help me.

My husband had a small policy with Lincoln income life insurance which was acquired by Washington national several years ago. It is a whole life policy and when I called to inquire about it and get the actual cash value amount I was told to fax in a copy of the policy etc and they would get back to me within 7 business days. After not hearing from them I called back and at first the lady told me they never received the paperwork and asked me to resend everything for the archives department to review. Later in the conversatio... read more

We come home on my Wife's birthday with a bill over $200 because we "were not paying the right payroll deduction". The form from when she signed up said a smaller amount then what our new bill said. I have a copy of the signature page and it does not state the amount we supposedly owe. We think it's ridiculous if there was a discrepancy that it took OVER A YEAR for them to charge it all at once. Would not recommend to anyone.

I'm frustrated with this insurance company every time I speak to someone there's a different answer. A Customer Service Agent advised me that I would be able to cash out in 2018 this was in 2016 proper paper work would be mailed to me I didn't receive paperwork so I called spoke to agent and was informed that I can't cash out until policy matures in 2022. Now I'm retired live in Nevada there's no state tax here seems as though maturity or not I won't be seeing any money. Definitely won't be recommending this Company.

washington national insurance company dropped us after paying premiums for 50 years. always paid on time. My husband got private insurance after he got out of the service. so it shows what washington national insurance thinks of those that serve our country.

Terrible customer service. No one seems to be able to answer basic questions. When open enrollment comes back around will be cancelling my policies.

I have tried to cash in my 20 year policy they said it would take 30 days. Six weeks later they are saying they have no idea when I will receive MY money because I live in TEXAS. We have no state income tax. I’m tired of their run around and no two people give the same excuse. I’d never recommend this company.
