Trying to collect on a claim is like pulling teeth!! I have been paying the premium for over 35 years, qualify for a claim and they are nickel and dining me for every procedure!
These guys lie like dogs!
Even in my husband's demise the services are horrible smh
ZERO stars. Six+ weeks into disability and despite numerous phone calls and texts to the agent, there have been NO benefits paid. A different excuse is given each time we communicate with them. Im wondering if they even *have* the money to pay claims.

MY WIFE WORKS FOR THE US POST OFFICE. SHE IS HAVING A VERY HARD TIME DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AND TRYING TO GET HER SHORT TERM DISABILITY MONEY. I have called four or five times in the past 30 days. Customer service says an agent must contact me to answer my questions. Still waiting for an agent to contact me. Definitely going to cancel my policy!

To any agents out there considering getting appointed with Washington National, don't do it. They will straight up lie to you. I was told there were accounts in my area to work and that there was a person that would do some training with me. I have 20 years experience and really didn't need much. The person who was supposed to train me wanted me to drive 4 hours to where he was at for training at my expense. My wife fell from the tub and injured her foot and ankle. She had a small abrasive skin wound and severe pain and swelling. I took her to the ER, the doctor there was more concerned about a fracture than the skin abrasion. He saw no fracture and sent her home in a splint. Four days later the skin wound developed into a severe infection. I took her back to the ER where she was diagnosed as having developed a Cellulitis bacterial infection at the site of the wound and was hospitalized for eight days. I live in New York and have an IRA which I submitted a transaction request to have all funds moved to another company. Washington National Insurance Company has denied request saying I am living in either a Community Property State (New York is not) or a Spousal Signature State (again, New York is not) and will not release funds until I have my spouse sign permission.
