I have been taking my australian cattle dog here for 12 years now and my aussie for 6 years. I absolutely adore Dr. Enk and my not so friendly cattle dog does also. She found his heart murmor and has been monitoring it for 4 years now. When he was dx with a tumor on his spine at age 9 she weighed the pros and cons of surgery vs pain management. There is nothing I can say even remotely negative about this place. From the staff to the doctors and everything in between, it's always a pleasure to come here, even though the circumstances aren't always happy!
We have two dogs, one that we've had since 8 weeks old and another that we recently rescued. Our rescue was spayed here right before we rescued her and recovered extremely well. Our other dog was being seen by another vet that was recommended to us by family after moving back to the area. That vet was absolutely horrible in every aspect. After not knowing who she was at drop off and again at pickup, we were greatly over charged for her spaying based on the quote and then told she tested positive for Lyme disease. I have been bringing my dogs here for years. They always get excellent care, and the staff is very friendly. I have a senior dog with a lot of health issues but I am always confident that the doctors here give them the best possible care. You don't need an appointment, but Saturdays are usually very busy so I would suggest you allow extra time if that is when you take your pet in.
After having my dogs at another vet for quite some time I decided to begin researching the vets in the area for better options. I collected information via reviews and phone calls to the vets and even went for on-site visits. What I liked about Wheaton Animal hospital was how friendly, comfortable and helpful the Wheaton Staff was even without me having my dogs there. Great service by the doctors here. Always courteous to my pet. Prices standard vet pricing. No wait as everything is a walk-in so it will vary on how long you are waited to be seen. I have no issue with that and for the working momma it is a great thing.
We recently had a growth removed from our 10 year old Bichon's eye. We were extremely nervous about the procedure due to her age and the location of the growth. Dr. Weidner immediately put our minds to ease. He explained the procedure very clearly and even drew a picture. The procedure went amazingly well and she healed quickly, as he said she would. Excellent!!! This place is a walk in clinic. Since I live close I asked how many people were ahead of me. 1. Awesone. Got there in and out during the summer with 30-45 minutes. Very clean. Brought my dog in for a sore on her tail and instead of pushing medications, the Dr said let's work with what you already have. Saved me some money and was very knowledgeable and made sure I understood everything. They do free first visits. And I will also be switching to the grooming there. Got refereed from a family member to the Wheaton animal hospital, and I couldn't be more happier. I'm a new dog owner and don't really know much but Dr. Cole helped us out with everything! By far one of the most honest and helpful veterinarians I have ever met! He preformed an acl surgery for my Yorkie and updated us every step of the way!
