maybe this time ,, The media could not be loaded. this is my 3rd one ,first one lasted for 7 years with no problem just normal maintenance which is just diaphragm at about 20 dollars , then it just got chalky and started cracking it was used 8 to 10 hours in a Florida pool all day all year , so i think thats pretty good , then i bought no.2 and it only lasted one year ,thats unacceptable, but it was a flimsy one to start with looked was a zodiac g 3 but did not fill the quality maybe it was a knock off i don't know , ,so now... read more
The best there is I had the G4 and miss the looks on that one. My G3 replaced that some 15 years ago. I've since replaced the parts on that and it worked for over 15 years. I replaced parts, and none of it was original Zodiac, but it still worked. The hoses were original, but after all those years, it was just worn out. I decided I'd had enough of dealing with it being stuck and my duct taping the holes on the cartridge and whatever else.SO! I got a new one and happy I did. It works just like a remember. I have an 18k pear sh... read more
Not sure yet, but better than others This is the third barracuda-like pool vacuum that I am trying. It is about 4 times the price of the earlier two which were under $100. It might all be due to the 39ft Zodiac hose vs the 33ft hoses of the others, so i am reserving judgment.Dont know yet if the price differential is worth it.I cant help but think the cheaper Chinese versions probably use the same technology as the Zodiac Barracuda, so maybe it's all about the hose diameter and length.I have to say that I spent over 4 hours ... read more
A minor learning curve The thing went together and is brilliantly designed with one moving silicone diaphragm. It initially went to town but soon quit. I thought it had broken. The key to operation is getting the "mouth" of this cleaner flat on the floor for the "magic" to happen. When correct, the diaphragm oscillates and moves the cleaner along at decent rate. Break that seal and it stops. Mine broke because it got to the end of the hose limit and it broke the seal. (My pool is fairly large at 25-30,000 gal.) The cool thin... read more
So far, this is the best suction pool cleaner I've owned. Right out of the box, it was easy to assemble and get working. For context, I have a 20x40ft "party" pool with pebble tech.I had issues with it getting stuck in a corner by my steps, but I adjusted where the weight on the hose was the best for my pool (right near the end of the first hose), and I took some hose lengths out (I had too many). Now it cleans like a champ.I had my doubts, after watching it shimmy it's away around my pool, but the results speak for themselves... read more
For me...it gets no better I've had a kreepy krawly for last three years. To be fair, it came with the pool that came with the house and it is likely older than three years. I've purchased several parts for the krawly - new foot, new rollers, pretty much the regular wearable parts. I also put new hose on the unit. Constantly sticking on drain and not moving around pool well. Spent a lot of time brushing pool towards deeper end where the Krawly would hopefully clean. Finally got tired of it and thought time for new. Researche... read more
Beats Kreepy Hands down. I have bought new and worn out numerous Kreepy Krawlys in my pool over the last 30+ years. Some versions worked better than others with the last and latest being the worst. None worked perfect, but all were way better than manual cleaning. Hanging up on steps was always a possible issue depending on the water level (or maybe moon phase….?) and the last one would not even climb/clean the walls. Add that parts have become stupid expensive, and it was apparent it was time for a change. Decided to change... read more
Should have bought this years ago! The media could not be loaded. I have to say, I am very impressed by this zodiak G3.Low cost for a suction pool cleaner, only one or two parts to replace if a part is old (also low cost for parts), Very easy to install, and also saves a lot of energy with the pump. I believe the last statement applies only/mainly if you use variable speed pump! Before, I used my Zodiak MX6 every day for 2 hours, and it ran at 2750RPM@ 655watts.Now (See pic above), my G3 works at 1950RPM@ 238Watts. That is a ... read more
No Assembly Instructions and only So-So Performance Although it's not that hard to assemble - IF you know what goes where. If they would just put a small insert with a schematic as to how to place the parts that need to be added on, there would be a lot less frustration with this product. When finally assembled and in the water, the G3 goes backwards following the hose - or presumably pushing the hose. That's your first clue that you didn't assemble the thing properly... but no, that's the way it is made. The problem here is... read more
