I can only imagine the Seafood is better than the prime rib which all 4 of our group had and all were overcooked and had no flavor. The cheese and salad was great. After the great salad, it over an hour for the dinner to be served. there seemed to be confusion in the kitchen. After dinner we felt we were rushed out by both the server removing our plates and the staff clearing the table while we were still eating. Never again.
We felt rushed to get through our meal because they wanted to close up the restaurant for the evening...we had a 9:00 pm reservation and were finished with all of our courses by 10:15. When we got there at 8:45 pm we waited 15 mins for them to arrange our seating (granted we were early but the restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday night). Nice place but way over priced. We typically are used to ice places and expensive places but this was a 1 hour dinner for 6 with apps and salads, dinner and dessert for 280. If you do that in an hour it's semi fast food not a nice relaxing dinner out. Rushed with mediocre food for fairly top dollar. Won't be back and the place was 75% empty.....in a great location. That tells me many have had the same type of opinion.
Food was poor. Waitperson was dull. The new Alexander's is a far cry from the old establishment.
Went to Alexander's for earlybird special, which was a very good value. Although we arrived at the required early time, we had to specifically ask for the early menu.
The artisan cheese dish was very good, however, the lobster tail I had with my entree was overcooked. That's a lot of money for something with the texture of rubber.

We have eaten at Alexander's every year for the past 10 summers. Please know the name and location are the same but the food and services is not. Just two examples- Our shrimp appetizer was so overdone it was chewy. Our waitress opened both bottles of wine and poured them without offering to let us taste first. I really hope these are just glitches that can be approved and we can put Alexander's back on our regular eating place list.
