Restaurant overrated! Run like an Express line. Sit down, food out quickly, customer out...next! Ignored the fact this was a birthday reservation.
We were disappointed. Expected a nice, quiet, “date night” dinner. Atmosphere was mixed with couples and families with children. The service was not good at all. Our waiter seemed inexperienced. When we finally got to order, it took over an hour to get our meal. We had salads and prime rib. The food had a good flavor but the prime rib was almost cold. Our experience here was not good.

We arrived first at the door for the early bird special celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary. We were sitted promptly, nice view. The table in front of us and sitted after us with a different server had their drinks and order taken immediately we waited five minutes. Our server was over taxed, she had two tables and a party of about 15. So getting drink refills and our food order was compromised. Food was fine but nothing remarkable. Very expensive. Our waitress was professional but robotic. Would not recommend this restaurant unless you are looking for a place you can walk to and you are in Palmetto Dunes.
We realize it was Mother's Day but the restaurant was not crowded. They were under-staffed as it took us over 20 minutes to receive our water and drink orders. The party at the table besides us walked out without paying the check as their dinner order never came after an hour. However, we did not fare too much better. Our server was great but he was covering over 10 tables.
Complaint - Early dining does not mean subpar for rolls that were from the night before dining. They were like rocks even after you try to break them apart. The food was ok, not spectacular, just ok. Early dining has the best value.
Baked oyster appetizer was a little dry , needed more cheese. My wife had a fillet that was good. But my prime rib was over cooked and dry even when sent back the first time.check with Cranes Tavern on how to prepare and serve prime rib. The accompanying asparagus was thick and chewy. Reservations were made for my birthday but it was never acknowledged. Alexander’s needs to get better.
