I had a spring go bad on the front of the dishwasher so Silver Star Appliances replaced it. I filed the claim online and American Home Shield's website is pretty user-friendly. I had some issues surrounding an old claim that never got taken care of. But other than that, it's okay as far scheduling service.

I feel good about the service from Home Shield because whenever I have to put in a claim, I just go online, which is convenient. Within an hour or so, it normally sends me a contract number and name. Sometimes, the contractor calls me and sometimes I call them, it depends. But I'm okay with waiting to see if they call. They're pretty fast with their services and the contractors are usually pretty good.My icemaker wasn't making any ice and we couldn't figure out why and what was going on. Two guys from Sears came out, one was... read more

Ease of registering a service call. Good companies that they contract with.

I have been a AHS customer for 15+ years. Good response time when requesting service. Problems usually resolved in one visit. Some contractors are better than others, especially for HVAC central air conditioner systems. Would like the opportunity to pick a contractor from a list of available choices from AHS. Currently the contractor is assigned by AHS.

I asked for service and it was very easy. The AC unit got frozen and the tech was able to get it running again. I also contracted through American Home Shield to have my TV looked at and that all went well as well. The experience has been excellent.

I called Home Shield and they gave me the contractor's number, then I called them and made an appointment. It happened on the weekend. So on Saturday, they couldn't do anything. The unit still worked, but it just blew light cold air. Also, the temperature went up to 82 in the house, which was still not bad for 102 outside. But it was warm, so we had to turn to fans. But everything was great. Good process. And Monday morning, the contractor showed up.When the gentleman called me, he said, "Turn the unit off" and I didn't unde... read more

When we got the house, it ended up that the guy turned the garage to a bathroom, so one of the airs in there is not flowing through the house. The guy from Trademasters Inc. came and checked around. He was only there for 20 minutes and we were confused on why we still had to pay $75. He didn't do anything. He just gave us some options on what to do. 'Cause this is gonna have to get a lot of stuff repaired as far as add another duct in a room and so on. Still, the guy was cool and knowledgeable. He told us what he thought and... read more

Max Cool Air Conditioning came and fixed my air conditioner, but I wasn't too happy about them. They were giving me quotes on new air conditioners and they were telling me $7,500. I’ve looked into that and they're only about 3,500 'cause my home is only 800 square feet. It's a small home. Anyway, I have read online too that apparently, they're good at telling people 7,500 across the board to anyone. I figured if I needed them again, and I call American Home Shield, they're overpricing. The other thing with them is they told ... read more
