I appreciate that they are often responsive and empathetic to our issues, but getting things covered by them can be an absolute nightmare, requiring me to spend hours on hours on the phone with them. Recently, their hold times have increased significantly, making it even more painful

I had two appliances that needed repair. In both cases, the repair people came quickly and assessed the situation. In both cases, the repair parts were discontinued. American Home Shield offered me a replacement or money towards a replacement. I chose the money towards the replacement and they sent a check. It was simple.
