When we moved, the agent gave us a free year with this warranty company but at the end of the second year with them, we had a guy come over and put in a brand-new air conditioner and screwed it up. So we went back to American Home Shield. They sent out a guy from Everyday Heating and Cooling who was absolutely super. He came out the first time and we had no Freon at all in our air conditioner and he had to fill it up. Five days later, we called back and he started coming in to check. He guaranteed us that until they could ge... read more

American Home Shield was recommended by a friend and we’ve had them for two years. When the air conditioner stopped running, the contractor came on the appointment that was made. The service was great and it helped. Everything has been wonderful since they came out.

The issue on the AC has been resolved and my renter is happy with the service from Platinum. I did the claim online and American Home Shield got back to me within 24 hours. The service calls are a little expensive but if it proves that they send out dependable people, it's worth it.

The days I was calling American Home Shield was 24 hours of waiting. I would wait six hours. I just let the phone ring because I was watching TV. And I'm getting this from all the people that work for these companies that are coming into my house. The representatives are absolutely excellent but getting on the phone is hours. I calculated all the hours that I waited. It was almost 24 hours in a matter of the two weeks that I tried to call, and that was horrible. Right now, I had three different representatives come to my hou... read more

National Platinum came out to fix my freezer, my water maker, and the ice maker on my refrigerator. Other than the time frame that it took, the technicians did what they were supposed to do. It took several weeks for them to get it done but they did a pretty good job. It's working fine since. I've had Home Shield for five years now and it's a pretty good convenience to have. When items get broken, it's good to have.

There was an issue with the icemaker and American Home Shield sent out Midwest Marketplace. They analyzed and found out it was the pump that had the issues, and they corrected it. Submitting a claim to AHS is simple but they should increase some of the limits on what they have for items like sump pump costs to factor in more expensive homes. It should not be a generic price for all. Still, they did a good job.

When I was looking at my coverage, they list ceiling fans as being covered but that's bathroom fans, not ceiling fans. I’ve got ceiling fans in every room, plus three of them out on the patio under the patio cover. But they said I can't add that coverage until we do a new contract in February. But they've been very helpful when my wife was in hospice. Everything has been good with the contractors except for the people that we've had on the Samsung.

I love American Home Shield. I've already recommended them and I speak with everybody about them. My nephew and another friend have contracts with them. My only complaint is there are additional fees sometimes. I had to have my air conditioner unit replaced, but the people charged a $1,200 excess fee. The space was tight, but $1,200 was a lot of money. Then there was something when I had to get a new hot water heater. This was Grade A Plumbing and they did a good job installing the hot water heater. However, two things weren... read more

I had a clogged drain that's way in the back, somewhere I'm not gonna be able to get to. Getting in the site and requesting the service with Home Shield was really good. Then, Gen-Tech came out and they did really well. They explained everything that could have been wrong and they went right to what they thought was the source. It turned out to be the first thing they thought of which was pretty easy for them. Also, they were wearing masks and they were sanitizing. Everything kind of worked out for the best. But when we repl... read more
