I had an emergency call for my AC unit and initially, American Home Shield referred me to the one provider that they constantly use in this area when there's a problem with the air conditioner. But this organization was never able to come and when they did, they didn't seem to be astute in this area. My air conditioner started screaming. I turned it off and I called American Home Shield. They scheduled the appointment right away and it went smoothly. The appointment was for Friday and the company called me on Thursday and said that they had an opening if I had time. So they came early. The guy knew what he was doing and fixed my air conditioner right away. It took him less than an hour. He replaced the motor and it was flawless. It was a seamless transaction. Custom Climate did a great job with the air conditioning unit. When the tech came, it was not putting out enough air and he said everything was working but the problem was that the motor wasn't big enough. They recommended a bigger motor and my wife and I are still considering it. Overall, Home Shield's response was good and I appreciated the cooperation of everybody.
Home Shield made me wait four days to get water in my house. They said that there was a long list for B&B Plumbing and I had to wait. So, I waited. But the B&B Plumbing guy made up for it. He was fantastic. He cleaned the sink thing that was there. Nobody has ever climbed behind for as long as this house has been built. He fixed the plumbing part that was missing and the part that went to the washing machine. The faucet that he got is gorgeous.
I initially went online to submit the claim for our air conditioning but I wasn't happy with who they assigned for it. I looked up the reviews on that particular company that was automatically assigned and they weren't that great and they were far away from where I live. So I called the 800 number and spoke to someone on the phone and they set it up. They were very helpful and told me they would see if they could find someone closer. There's a rusted piece on my water heater. The plumbers came out and they can see where where it was leaking before. But then, they said they can't do anything about it because it's not leaking now. It's an electric water heater. It's right next to my fuse box and my AC unit. If it starts to leak and I'm not here, it will be a disaster. I woke up on a Monday morning and my freezer was leaking and it wasn't freezing. It was also making a loud noise. So, I immediately put in a request to American Home Shield to get a repair on it. It took a little bit of time for me to hear from Gulf Appliance Repair. I called them and they told me that they had not received the request yet from American Home Shield. American Home Shield has made the claims submission easy because it's online. I answer a few questions and then they contact the service company right away, and then the service company contacts me. It's very simple for me to do and it's efficient because I prefer not having to call somebody up if I can just do it online. It's exactly what I expect. JTL Services did a great job. The dryer and the panel that sits on top of it, which you turn on and off, was stripped and it was not working properly. So, the technician had to replace the timer. He was able to get the part locally, so it just took one day. With American Home Shield, I don't have to worry about tracking down a contractor. They already have them picked out and I like that I don't have to waste my time. Hopefully, they have done a good job of picking those vendors, and so far, they have.
