I went online to do both claims to American Home Shield for my two AC units. I can do the website no matter what time of day or night and I don’t have to wait until it’s business hours, so I like that. As soon as you put in the claim, you get an email from them saying that they’ve assigned it. It was to Sevier Climate Control and they told me to expect the call from them within a certain amount of time.I put in the last claim on Saturday night and I didn't get a call until Monday. American Home Shield is pretty prompt. We went round and round about the heat pump issue and that ended up costing me 2,300 bucks out-of-pocket. I kinda thought that was bull. They wanted to replace half of the unit that didn’t work and then the other half of the unit that did work wasn’t compatible with the heat pump, so I had to pay for that out-of-pocket. My best friend and her stepmother are both real estate agents. They both highly recommended AHS. Since my best friend’s mother-in-law is highly seasoned and sells multi-million and billion-dollar properties on the west side of the Florida coast, the fact that she recommended AHS is the most driving point. I feel pretty good about AHS. I filed a claim for our AC and they sent United Air. They came after a day of submitting the claim and replaced the compressor on the unit.
Everything went fine with an online claim I made with American Home Shield. The tech who came touched the dishwasher and it came on. I don't know if it was just malfunctioning. But with my refrigerator, some kind of a line was frozen up and he did whatever he needed to do and he got it to work. It was like the drain pipe was frozen up and he took care of it. We just bought a house and the sellers paid for American Home Shield. I had to call in to file a claim 'cause I couldn't get online. The service of Ed's Lock & Key was good, professional, quick, and got everything done, in and out.
I sent in a claim and everything was pretty simple with the process. It was very clear. Royal Flush came out and they replaced the spinner. AHS is very quick in responding and they are very accurate. So overall, it’s been great. I prefer submitting claims online because it's easier and I'm able to input the details. It’s hard to explain over the phone sometimes. So I figured email would be a lot clearer and more understandable.
So far, submitting claims to AHS could be easier but it has been okay. I've had two contractors come out to my place so far and both of them have been great. Initially, I had a plumbing issue and their contractors took four days to get to my place. That was a little long. More recently, I submitted an AC claim and their air conditioning guy from Millennial HVAC was out in the next day or two. The tech was great. One company came out to service my air conditioner with the contract I had with them but they didn’t do anything. The guy said I had a leak in a line, and if I wanted to fix it, it would be 250 something dollars. I told him no and that I was gonna call my company to see. After he told me that, I contacted American Home Shield and they sent me somebody from Myers Comfort Specialist of Montgomery. They came in and put in a coil pad.
