My repair was quick and well done by a qualified professional.
Our air conditioning unit was no longer working. The fan would blow on the inside but it was blowing hot air. We called American Home Shield and they contacted Wild West Mechanical and we were told to expect a contractor within 24 hours. The tech came out early and found that there was a problem on the outside part of our air conditioner. He replaced the part and that was it. The service was excellent. I really pushed to have American Home Shield when I bought my home and when I got that first year, I liked the way they dealt with me. It was easy to call and talk to someone about my issue. But I had to wait longer since this COVID thing and the wait was unreal. One day, I waited almost two hours just to get ahold of somebody on the phone. But they were obviously busy so I was trying to be patient because I have dealings with a lot of companies I have to wait a long time with. The warranty was bought by the seller when we bought the house and in my case, it's very important to have it. A guy from Kyle's Plumbing got our plumbing issue fixed and then he was on his way. He was very professional and he knew what he was doing. We had another contractor out here today as well. The garbage disposal was not working and the rep was great when we called American Home Shield. Usually, they get the contractors contacted quickly and the contractors usually contact us quickly too. They get us in and out. The rep told me that within 24 hours, the contractor would contact me and he called the next day. The representative from that contracting department advised us that he was behind a couple of jobs, which I understood because of what was going on with COVID. I switched to another company from AHS 'cause of the price. I'm having trouble canceling the coverage right now because every time I call, the system says the reps are busy because of the coronavirus. One problem I had with them was when our heater went out during the winter. That was an emergency situation and it took a couple of days to get anybody out. Still, I have had nothing wrong with AHS. One of AHS's contractors named Aaron’s Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning came and look at my furnace to see what was going on with it. The techs figured that it needed to be replaced. I didn't have them replace it as I found a friend who was a plumber who would do it for me for cheaper. Regardless, the techs from Aaron's did a good job. I really like American Home Shield.
AHS is by a wide margin, the best home warranty experience on the market. We have tried almost all of the warranty options out there with varying levels of success. AHS has been much easier to deal with, responds the quickest to claims, communicates the most frequently, and resolves our issues most completely. Something broke in the washing machine's tub and I put my request in with AHS. We live sort on the boonies, but the contractor was here in a couple of days, which was not bad. One Appliance handled my claim great. I’d like to see the tech again if I had to have an appliance worked on. I’m really happy with the customer experience.
