The American Home Shield warranty was existing on the house when we purchased it. We just kept it for the first year and used it several times that year. We were really happy with it so we just kept the coverage. Our heat pump was broken. It was hot and the repair needed to happen. Platinum Heating & Air's tech replaced the two fuses and it was still not cooling so he added a pound of Freon to the unit and they fixed it. Our air conditioning stopped producing cold air. After opening a service request with American Home Shield, Hansen Mechanical came out and they were super professional. I explained the problem to them. They pretty much knew right away that it was probably a Freon leak. The guy definitely knew exactly what he was talking about and he explained everything in a way that I understood it. They went out and checked our Freon. They found that we were low on it so they recommended doing like a seal then giving us more Freon. We went... read more

The warranty is expensive but other than that, it's fine. The tech who came out for the refrigerator was great.
