Everything went fine with Fast Response Heating & Cooling. It seemed like I did not have anything wrong with my heating system. The noise it was making was probably in the waterline. I did some Google research on reviews and picked American Home Shield when I purchased my house. The rep gave me a couple of options from the closing company. The only thing with AHS is there are a lot of little exclusions to these policies and that can be frustrating for people. But when I did a claim online for my refrigerator, AHS sent out Appliance Express and they communicated quickly. American Home Shield sent Direct Appliance Repair for my appliance issue. The claim went well. The service guy was able to order the part. It's the second time that part broke off, but it was over the limit so he ordered it and then he came back and he replaced it. He seemed very experienced. He knew what he was doing. He did very well and he was prompt. He was in the neighborhood, as a matter of fact, and he wanted to know if he could come by and finish it, and I said, “Sure, we'd love to have it done.”
1st American Plumbing came out because it was leaking under my kitchen sink. They were able to come the next day I submitted the claim to AHS, but I had to make them wait one more day. I have been a customer for quite a while with AHS. I had read some negative press that nearly made me second guessing myself paying for the service. But, AHS made me an offer to upgrade my air conditioner equipment that was over 20 years old. the offer price they gave me was unbelievable. A warranty on a brand-new house, maybe not so important. But if your house has got some age on it, things will start to go wrong. Go for it. In my case, the reason I bought the warranty was our house is 20 years old, many of the appliances such as the furnace are 20 years old, and I can’t afford large repairs right now. And since I've had it, Home Shield replaced my washing machine, they repaired my heat pump - put in there a new air handler, and then this dryer. Everything was perfect with my recent plumbing claim with AHS. The contractors came out the next day. They troubleshot and got it installed. They were in and out and were socially distanced. It was great.
We were about nine days with no hot water. I talked to somebody over the phone and the experience was great. The rep was very kind, very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. AHS put the contractor to call me as soon as possible to set an appointment. Everything was smooth and pretty quick. I signed up over a year ago with the Home Shield, and we had a company come out here. They replaced my variable speed motor with a standard motor, and they gave me a module that converts the motor into a dual-speed. That failed two months in. Summer was over, and we turned off the AC.
