The oven on my kitchen stove went out. Once the Sears technician came out, he determined that it was the computer board that runs the oven. Home Shield ordered the board, then the tech came back out and repaired it. He was very professional and very courteous, and I would definitely recommend I use him again. He was here on a Tuesday and I received the board that Thursday, and then he came back the following Tuesday. The oven is working perfect now. I was well satisfied.
I have four contracts with American Home Shield and I've been with them for 22 years. I’ve got several rentals and they cover all of them and my own. Their call waiting is long though, when you call to let them know that you got a problem. But they started a new thing with, “We’ll call you back,” which is good. I like that. I'm in the process of selling my home and we had the home inspection last week. There were a few minor electrical issues that the home inspector identified we needed to get fixed. There were two claims that I had with Home Shield and Light It Up came out the day that Home Shield notified them. The service was excellent and they were very good. When our heating wasn’t working, we made a request and it was very easy to do online. The air was pushing through but it wasn’t hot. The technician who came out explained to me that the piece inside the house was saying it needed to be hot, and the piece outside the house was saying it needed to be cold. They were counteracting each other, so he came in and reset our thermostat for us. He checked our Freon for us as well and everything has been going smoothly since.
Superior HVAC did a good job. They came out for our AC claim and it was perfect. AHS did great as well.
Home Shield has excellent customer service. And from that point, it’s no nonsense. You can do it online, you can set up the claims. I did it on a Sunday. There was no customer service involved. I did everything on my own. It was cool. You call them up and it’s done. You gotta pay the 100 bucks, but whatever it is, it is. I could have fixed the issue by myself, but the process was quick.
