they have taken my money for 3 years and when I called for a repair on my refrigerator they charged me the $75 service fee.. they sent out two different companies one of their technicians removed a plug that is necessary for diagnosis now they will not take responsibility for fixing my fridge I'm going on 3 weeks with no refrigerator and American Home Shield will not stand behind the technicians that they sent to my home!! Finally received my reimbursement check for repair services after waiting 10 to 14 business days. The check was NOT VALID because it lacked both a routing number AND an account number. I was unable to deposit or cash it, even after presenting it to the issuing bank's (Chase) local branch. Incidentally, Chase seemed like they didn't care too much. So on day 8 no heat in February found out they have no intention of covering. I switched to this coverage from Choice Warranty to have professional tech on the job only to have the one who came to my house lie about my furnace and situation to get out of fixing it I guess

I recently submitted a request repair for my a/c unit, a technician came out and said it was my evaporator coil which is covered. I was relieved to hear this and waited 2 weeks to hear back on approval for the fix. I finally heard back and was blown away that even though the work was covered I had to pay $1347. $600 of this was refrigerant and another $700 were code upgrades. I would absolutely NOT recommend AHS to anyone. We have been dealing with a claim since 8/19 and currently (9/29) it is still not resolved. We had a leak from and upstairs bathroom. The technician they sent out opened up the ceiling in the room below to try to figure out where the leak was coming from. He could not gain access from this point, so he went back upstairs (where he should have started in the first place) and gained access from the wall behind the shower. Absolutely terrible! I have used them twice. Once for a plumbing issue and another for an electrical problem. The contractors they send will do as little as possible and tell you it is ok or they will come back to fix it. When you call and email them back, they NEVER answer or get back to you. And AHS doesn't care. They just want to collect your $$ every month. I have no idea why AHS has such high ratings. Probably a lot of fake reviews. I will start by saying, I am first generation American and have been raised with many immigrants... The name, "American" Home Shield makes me laugh. Nobody I have spoken to at AHS lives in this country. They are doing the best that they can, but they are given scripts to follow and don't understand half of what is going on. I have been with AHS now since 2003. Up until the last few years they were great to deal with. It started last year with a call when my AC stop working. The contractor was there the next day made the diagnoses. My compressor was shot. I understand that its summer the AC company is busy this will take a few days. After waiting about a week In 90 to 100 degree weather I finally get a call from AHS saying they authorized my repair my out of pocket is over $300.00.
