I am a first time customer of American Home Shield. My active contract date is 6/2019. My first service request began on 6/19 and 30 plus days later, my refrigerator has not been repaired. The first repair company selected by American Home Shield, scheduled an appointment with me immediately. The day of the appointment, the technician canceled because they did not service Bosch appliances. Well I'm not satisfied at all. Still waiting on hot water tank for over 3weeks now. Call American shield several times an so say contact the contractor. Keep giving me lies about there coming and still no show. Then paid my service an still no show. Over three weeks an I'm pissed. RIDICULOUS.

I appreciated them listening to the problem and assigning someone to come make repairs. However they need to hire companies who are reliable. The company I was assigned to work with would not answer any of my calls concerning when parts were in or when they were coming to install. When AHS called they told them they would call the day before1never happened. Then they said they would call 30 minutes before they came out-never happened. Did get it fixed but not without some frustration with the lack of communication.

There are better Home Warranties out there. They firstly does not cover the roof and they send out people who are low rated on yelp. They come fix tighten something and leave which then you have to call the technician out again. Also they only allow one technician per charge of $75. We have multiple issues in different areas which were requested at one time but had to pay $75 for each problem.

We called over 10 days ago re-washing machine problem. A repair person arrived two days later and immediately said he couldn't help because he needed a second person to help lift dryer from top of the washing machine. A second appt was scheduled with him. He did not show for that appt. Another appt was scheduled but he could not bring another person with him. We were told it was our responsibility to remove the dryer. We called AHS a number of times after that but they could not get us another repair person. We are in limbo ... read more

I have a AHS home warranty and my A/C went out. I had a service technician to come out and I paid the $125 fee. They diagnosed the issue but spent more time trying to sell us a new unit, so we requested another service technican. The new technican came and diagnosed a different problem. It's now been 3 weeks since the first diagnosis and 2 weeks since the second diagnosis. I have called more than 10 time and spent more than 8 hours on the phone. We are very, very unhappy with AHS. They were called out to diagnose/fix a plumbing leak at my elderly parents home. We paid the $75.00 fee and a plumber from Kintex Plumbing came out. Stated he thinks it's the hot water heater but in order to access it, the stove needs to be pulled out-which he refused to do per his manager. They can only move appliances if it's the item they are there to fix. Bottom line, we have to pay someone else or find a friend who can go to my parents house, pull out the stove so the tech can see.
