Was over 24 hours, before I heard from repair person. Had to call AHS TWICE.

My husband is a disabled vet and can not fix the things that come up. We have had AHS for several years and have used service a couple times for a washer repair in the home we live in and appointments were very slow but I understand since we live in a very small town. The washer kept breaking down and I finally just bought a new one didn't want to wait to have them replace that same part again. If I could rate them without any stars I would - long story short, a broken A/C on my rental in AZ in June, during a heat wave, took 2 weeks to finally resolve. During that time, I spent hours on the phone with AHS, accused of lying by the representative, transfer and drop, extended hold times while they were "researching". AHS put calls into the vendor but when I called, never had any notes that the vendor called them back or updated them. Never had any notes that the vendor even came out to my rental. I called for a plumbing repair the first week of October. Was told that I has to pay my $125 fee up front. Was then informed that I would have to find my own plumber and wouldn't be charged the fee up front. Karla sent me an email with PDFs I couldn't open. I found a plumber who could be at my house in 30 minutes. I left work and made the 30 minute drive home, emailing Karla and asking her to re-send the documents and to call me. After 16 years with them they raised my rates from $62 a month to $109 a month as I 'used them too many times.' Wow! So I dropped them. Potential customers should be aware of this.

Unless you have time the wait time to ininiate a service call, then you have to do online... wait time ridiculous. Understand the wait time because of Covid-19 but you know that so why not put extra representatives on during this time?

I was very disappointed when american home shield was supposed to have given me a credit for having a company out and service my unit in my house air conditioning for the 2nd time. it wasn't repair correctly thr frist time. they had to come out american home shield said they wouldn't charge me for the follow up visit, come to find out that they did charged me for service call. These guys are the worst...If I could give them less than one star I would. Our water heater broke 3 months after buying our home. Clearly it should have been covered under the warranty. They offered us a smaller, inferior water heater because they said it had similar capacity. I declined. Then things got interesting. Long story short it took over 2 weeks to get our water heather replaced and it cost us over $1000 out of pocket. This is a total scam and not a true "warranty"
