I have been so happy with this vet. I have been bringing my pets here since 2006 and they have received amazing care. Dr. Gus not only went above and beyond for my cats but he answered all my questions and made me feel calm when my cat was extremely ill. He took the time to really let me know what was going on and all my options but never pressured me into anything. Dr. Gus and his staff take good care of my 4 year old Riley (1/2 cocker & 1/2 Bassett). She was having issues late last year with puking up vile and having loose stool. We finally got her set on a prescription food and a 10 mg of Pepcid and she has be perfect ever since. I also appreciate follow up they do to call and check on how things are going. I'm glad to keep bringing Riley there!
I've been taking my dogs to doc Gus for over 10 years! Love this place! The staff is always soooo friendly!! Doc Gus is the BEST!! I have never felt pressured to do more than was necessary or guilty if I chose not to do something.
I have been taking my dogs here for over 25 years and would not consider any other veterinary practice. Dr. Gustafson (or Dr. Gus) graduated from the University of Illinois veterinary school and is very knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and has an easy going manner. I have been going here with my cats for over 25 years. Dr. Gus and his staff are kind, caring, and compassionate. If you can't get hold of Dr. Gus than Colleen or Mary are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. My older cat has been sliding downhill for a while and Dr. Gus and Mary are doing everything they can to give him as much time as possible and making sure he's comfortable. I highly recommend this animal clinic.
These negative reviews are puzzling to say the least. My wife and I have brought our cats to Dr. Gus and his friendly staff since 2003. His treatment and personable and even funny bedside manner make for a great experience. Three years ago one of our cats was struggling with a chronic health issue and was receiving specialized treatment that extended our cat's life. Our animals, 2 cats and 7 dogs, have been treated at this clinic since the early 1970's and we have always felt they were getting the very best of care. When three of our dogs reached the end of their lives and needed to be euthanized, the doctors and staff were very sympathetic and even sent us a sympathy card signed by all the staff. The front desk team are extremely rude. The wait times are insane, and they give you no idea how long you will be on hold. I wanted to check to see how much my dog's grooming would be, and the receptionist flat out said "I don't know" and "I can't check because she is with a customer" I guess I am not a customer....The prices are extremely high for no reason. You might as well go to Artistic grooming. Kristina is great, but to be honest she is not worth the disrespect. Spend your money elsewhere.

I've had to take my cat in a few times over the past week and in preparation, I've had to make and return calls here and it's atrocious. Today I hung up after waiting for 12 minutes to determine if post procedure side effects are normal. And if you're lucky to talk to someone, they don't instill any confidence that the information I'm getting is accurate.
