I'm glad their 24/7 and staff enough vets and techs to see many animals at a time. The vet that saw my dog was very detailed and nice and talked to me a lot. I just feel like he repeated what I told the tech. So for $450 my dog got an enema and some take home pain meds. I was there almost 2 hrs and just feel more should have been done. For what they charge they need to do a lot more.

Excellent emergency and specialist veterinary service. We like this better than the one in south Jersey that recently underwent huge changes. It seems that these vets have been here a long time and are very experienced. Dr Hunt is an excellent board certified veterinary surgeon and performed a miracle on our dog. His decades of experience and skill speaks volumes. Dr Alsarraf is the most knowledgeable and kind board certified oncologist you could find. We are so very lucky we stumbled upon this place on a cold night. They'... read more

It's not cheap. At all. But it's emergency, so you can't expect them to be. That aside, they're so nice and kind and it's a great resource to have. I've brought my pet here a few times when was unfortunately necessary, and have always had a great experience with both their staff and doctors.

I've taken my dog here twice. Both times were great experiences by caring kind employees and medical staff. Dr. Brophy performed emergency surgery on my dog yesterday and not only calmed me down but took amazing care of her and walked me through everything from the procedure to after care. Melissa, the nurse who helped us was also amazing. Yes, this is a pricey place but understand it is for emergencies and your pet will be in top notch care. I am thankful this place is close to home and open 24 hours, but hoping we won't ha... read more

I couldn't have asked for a better emergency veterinary hospital. Everyone there was very pleasant and understanding. We were first seen fairly soon after arriving, by a tech, who triaged my cat. I was then directed back to the waiting room. A little while later we were seen by a vet. She was attentive to everything I was explaining and after examining my cat, she gave me 3 options. She answered my questions and then I made my choice. This cat is quite feisty so I opted for them to give her a shot of antibiotics (especially ... read more

I brought my Beagle, Clementine, into AERA on Labor Day because she had been diagnosed with Lyme Disease and seemed to be showing symptoms that might require antibiotics. She was treated in a timely and sensitive manner, and her condition instantly improved. The staff at AERA, especially the delightful Dr. Laura Katz, were so cheerful, polite and professional that they made a potentially unpleasant experience a refreshingly painless one for Clementine -- and for me!

Without reservation, I would recommend bringing your pet to AERA, which is a 24/7 animal hospital in Fairfield. Our local veterinarian recommended that Cleo, my 15+ year old Egyptian Mau, receive further medical evaluation and care from their internal medicine specialists. I am so glad that we chose to take her here. Dr. Strauss (Internal Medicine) and Dr. Sommerkorn (24/7 Emergency Services) were wonderful, obviously knowledgeable/skilled/experienced, had the best intentions for my pet's welfare, and were genuinely empath... read more

We were on a vacation away from home when we had a chicken wing party and pooch decided to sneak and crunch into a chicken bone that I think a kid dropped. I quickly got to pooch and took out whatever chimkin bone remained in his mouth, but it seems like he already ingested some. The day after the pooch shivered all day and yelping in pain, at night he eventually went for #2 and it stank really bad, had some mucus and 2 drops of blood on it. Being a good (and kind of inexperienced) pup mom I freaked and thought he would... read more

Expensive but they truly care about animals and are extremely professional. They did all they could to save my dog but it also important to question the doctors.
