0/5 stars: Do not recommend. First: There is so much disorganization with money and payments. If you're not on top of making sure you've paid your bill, prepare to deal with collection agencies and literally saying to the staff, "someone please take my money!!" each time you try and pay. Second: An older blonde lady vet (don't know her name because she walked into the room and never introduced herself and never came back), 100% over treats pets for money. The tactic is to make you feel like your pets are imminently dying... read more

My puppy had his first appointment with this hospital and they sold us on the puppy plan. We were promised that if we wanted to bring him in 6 days a week if we could do so, so we paid for the whole plan upfront. They gave him medication to take two days after the appointment and told us to monitor any side effects. He started becoming sick and when we tried to make an appointment they were full and extremely unhelpful. The staff put us on a wait-list and made no efforts to call us back letting us know he won't be seen even ... read more

Business response:

Susie, we appreciated connecting offline and we hope we were able to address your concerns. As our Paw Plans are for general wellness visits and care, we do our best to accommodate more urgent needs with Prompt Care or Drop-off appointments and understand dropping off your loved one is not always ideal. We took your feedback to heart and have addressed your concerns internally and with the manufacturer of the product.

I have been wanting to leave a review of this animal hospital for a while. There are a few things that are important to me when picking out the veterinarian and their staff. I will list those below. Is the veterinarian knowledgeable and concerned for the well-being of my pet? Does the staff get back to me if I have questions or concerns? If for whatever reason they cannot see my pet are they willing to help me to find a veterinarian clinic that can assist my needs? Are they hyper focused on upselling, meaning do they think... read more

Business response:

Mary, we always try to accommodate our clients to the best of our ability and tailor our recommendations to you and your pet. After many, many years of receiving veterinary care for our animals here, we're finished. I get it that the pandemic changed everything but they have seriously reprioritized, I'm guessing profit over patient. Used to have a friendly family feel and now are difficult to reach and schedule with and staff is condescending beyond words. Seriously. Vet care is tough right now but I'll make all the calls I have to make to find someone who will prioritize the comfort and care of our animals and treat us with respect.

The tedious, swirling miasma of corporate is here too. When living bodies and corporate interests combine what happens? You - the patient, the customer, the consumer (baby bird in the nest who never leaves it) - are both disempowered and equalized. Details unnoticed because they're supposed to be digested / dissolved. Tests run = mission accomplished. Results unapplied and forgotten in a week. We are breathlessly harried and can't sustain memory bank or relationship. Yeah yeah whatever, can't you see we are busy? Ironically ... read more

Business response:

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about your experience, Ck . We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. Please call us at (425) 643-1170 and we'd be happy to discuss your experience further and understand how we can do better next time. Personally, I have worked at Newport Hills for 12 years and we pride ourselves on treating our patients like they were our own pets and ensuring we work with our clients to ensure they get the support they ... read more

I used to bring my two pups in and loved it for years. A bit on the pricier side but worth it for good care. This past weekend my dog was hit by a car. I rushed him and was told that because I didn't have an appointment, they were not able to treat him. Sorry I didn't know weeks ago that he would be injured??? I will NEVER bring my dogs here again.

Business response:

Sam, we do our best to accommodate emergencies despite not being an emergency clinic and leave slots open for a set number of unexpected illnesses or injuries that need prompt care. We have a set number of staff and to ensure we are able to provide the level of care our patients need we have a limit on the urgent care patients we can see in a day typically to six patients. We are also not a 24-hour place so without doctors, after 6:00 pm we are unable to accept critical patients that need overnight monitoring and typically r... read more

I ceased my business after a simple cat dental cleaning that almost cost my cat their life. I was on call that day so there was no reason they shouldn't of called me. They made some unethical decisions which almost cost them his life. This was the first scenario that made me loose trust in this vet. The second scenario is that every time we came to pick up meds, order meds, order food, get lab work done, nothing was done in a timely manner. When we'd pick them up they'd loose the medication. Fail to do it correctly and oft... read more

Hi Ducan, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. We have been working hard at accommodating the changes needed with COVID and switched to appointments to reduce wait times, while we cannot control food delays or manufacturers we always offer refunds on our food items. We also are focusing on our customer experience, reception, certifying our team to be official licensed med-clerks, and othe... read more

I have been taking my pets to Animal Hospital of Newport Hills for years and used to be satisfied with the service. Some vets are better than others, but on the whole, it was a good experience. Not anymore. I understand that with covid and short staffing, the office has had to make policy changes to their scheduling, but one of the best things about this office was the ability to walk in for a same day appointment if my pet was experiencing a medical issue. Now, it's impossible to get anything less than two weeks out and i... read more

Business response:

Kia, to combat the increased demand of people needing vet care, staff changes, and the changing medical needs of pets we have transitioned to appointments over walk-in to ensure we are valuing our client's time. We keep a set number of same-day appointments so we can see as many urgent visits as possible and typically work in multiple emergencies a day on top of the same-day visits. We do have to balance this as we want to ensure we are not over-whelming the team and keeping to our high standard of care. To work these extra ... read more

We went here for vaccines and Dr. Jody pushed and pushed for so many unnecessary treatments. They are definitely a money maker, especially since they refused to give vaccines without a 30 second/$70 exam. This was a waste of money and we will not be going back.

Business response:

Sarah, we understand that veterinary care can be costly, which is why we always try to accommodate our clients to the best of our ability. We offer a variety of treatment options so that you may select a less costly alternative, if possible. We do require an established relationship with our patients to vaccinate so that means an exam stating healthy within the last year especially for puppies or kittens to ensure safe to vaccinate. We aim to provide you with the information and educational resources to make the most informe... read more
