I am having a terrible experience with AUL, and I am undergoing serious financial and emotional damages. I am seriously considering bringing them and the car dealer to court. I bought a used BMW 328i (2011) with only 58000 miles. When I tried to bargain with the dealer, he refused to work with me on the price. He assured me that the car was in excellent condition because they check them throughly. I wanted an extended warranty, and he promoted AUL, he said that AUL is one of the best. This company is a joke. Their people are rude and look for any way NOT to pay when you make a claim. I had a motor go out in my Escalade which should have been covered if the mechanic provided them with the oil change records. Records were provided and so were MY copies, signed. They said the mechanics invoice numbers looked weird and denied the claim. I have never looked at any invoice number for my oil changes nor from any other receipt. This is the WORST company i have ever worked with. I purchased a service warranty for $2500 on top of my loan amount.. so of course you are paying a lot of more interest so this service contract I'm pay for is going to cost a lot more then the 2500.. My 2011 dodge rams front axle needed to be replaced, the dealership machanic call to make sure it was cover.. the customer service rep ask my machanic two questions and then denied my claim saying that my boot caused my axle to break... my machanic then called them back snd said... read more

AUL uses auto parts suppliers with bad reputations. They use suppliers that claim to refurbish auto parts but only repaint them and sell them as new. AUL replaced a transmission in my wife's vehicle which failed after barely 20000 miles being put on to the vehicle, and not a single one of those miles was even towing anything. They claimed they told the shop that we could have a GM replacement transmission installed instead of the shoddy one they sent, my wife nor anyone as the shop remembers being told that. My wife and I purchased a used vehicle with an extended warranty about 9 months ago. Recently the timing chain broke causing extensive damage to the engine. We were told by the dealership that the engine would need replaced completely but our claim was denied because my wife "should have known the issue was coming and brought it in for servicing". She isn't a licensed mechanic, there were no outward signs of trouble, no diagnostic lights shown. But here we are, sitting with a $4,000 problem. We've since contacted AUL to see ... read more

So the dealership I'm about to buy a car from tells me how great AUL is after I let them know I'm more than a little gun shy about 3rd Party Auto Service Contracts. So I decide to check them out and I end up here at BBB reading through the reviews, 60% of which are negative. I get the part where a lot of people don't read the finer points of the contract and thus "fail to meet the obligations" of said contract. My son purchased a car 6 months ago. we paid almost $3000.00 for an extended warranty. AUL has not been very helpful. My sons car broke down on a Saturday. No one was able to speak to us on saturday because it wasn't AUL business hours. After my mechanic looked at our car... our car wasn't broken down enough for a third party inspector that AUL hires to verify the issue. It takes 24-48 hours for this inspector to show up. So the mechanic breaks the car down some more only to find out it's another 24 to 48 hours for that insp... read more

I have been calling since Monday regarding car issues and yes, I have a contract. Please refer to the 6 digit VIN number in lieu of the contract one. I cannot begin to express how disappointed II am with the ride and unprofessional agents. Namely an ***** in claims and an Eva in Roadside Assistance. Where to begin...I called on 2/27/18 and was warmly greeted by ***** ( note sarcasm).
